The time for the annual Steam Summer Sale is finally upon us. This year’s sale began on June 25th. Many of today’s most popular titles will be part of the discounted sale event.

In addition to the sale, Steam is adding a Points Shop permanently. The virtual storefront will sell items such as avatars, animated stickers, profile backgrounds, and other goodies. Dozens of collectibles will be accessible during the Summer Sale.  Points used in the shop are acquired by purchasing titles on Steam. Once you have enough points, grab the item you’ve been looking at.

Steam is also bringing back their ‘Summer road trip’. Each ‘stop’ on the road trip will give users a chance to acquire a different animated sticker. These stickers, though, can only be acquired every couple of days.

Some notable Summer Sale discounts include the Left 4 Dead bundle, which normally goes for $19.98. At an 85% discount, players can snag parts 1 and 2 for the price of $2.98. Other notable sales include the Bioshock franchise for an 80% discount and the Borderlands franchise for up to 93% off. You can click here to see the rest of what the Steam Summer Sale has to offer.

Gamers may also find they do not have to break the bank. Players will be able to save when they spend just a bit more. Every $30 that a user spends during the Summer Sale will grant them a $5 discount.

There are plenty of popular titles at discounted prices. Be sure to check and see if the title you’ve put on your wishlist is finally on sale. The event will only last until July 9th. Miss that deadline and you’ll have to wait a few more months.

Did any of your favorite titles make it onto the Summer Sale? Which titles will you be purchasing? Have you acquired any already? Let us know in the comments.
