Super Mario Bros Movie New Release Date
Fans can now expect to see the Super Mario Bros Movie a few days earlier, as the release date has been moved up. The upcoming animated film by Nintendo and Illumination will see a change in its release date for the US market, along with around 60 other markets around the world.
The film is still expected to hit other markets in April and May, with Japan seeing the film release April 28, 2023. The film’s original release date prior to the delay in 2022 was December 21, 2022, with Shigeru Miyamoto promising the film would be well worth the wait once it was released.
Back then, they teased the official voice cast of the film. It includes Chris Pratt as the titular Italian plumber, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Foreman Spike, a character who first appeared in 1985’s Wrecking Crew.
Nintendo will be releasing the final trailer for the film on March 9, 2023 during a Nintendo Direct presentation. This will be the third such presentation focused specifically on the Super Mario Bros Movie, and will not feature any game announcements. The direct will begin at 2:00 PM PT / 5:00 ET on the official Nintendo YouTube channel.
Nintendo has been upping the ante with advertisements for the Super Mario Bros Movie lately, with a new commercial and website launched for Super Mario Bros Plumbing, several posters, and more.
