This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information.

SuperMash is a game that exists to answer the questions each and every one of us has had at some point or another. What if this shoot em up was mixed with a platformer, or what if this JRPG had stealth elements? Today on Steam, developer Digital Continue will help answer these burning questions of dream mash-ups.

SuperMash does exactly what it sounds like. It takes 2 games and mashes them together to form unique hybrids. You can mash together 6 different 2D genres to mix together, or with themselves, to see the results. The genres that can be mixed in SuperMash are Metroidvania, Stealth, JRPG, Platformer, Shoot ’em up, and action-adventure. An almost endless set of possibilities await.

Each mash-up also comes with glitches. Usually, a bad thing in games, the glitches in SuperMash create a number of different scenarios for you to overcome. At the same time, you can also collect in-game dev cards that allow things such as enemies, environments, or characters to change the game further. Created mashes will also be available to share with the world. Create something you’re proud of and unique codes are generated to allow others to download and play your creation. It’s a game that could last for a long time, and I can’t wait to see what people come up with.

SuperMash

There is a chance you may have played SuperMash already as it has previously launched on the Epic Store, Nintendo Eshop, PSN, and Xbox Games Store for $19.99. To make up for SuperMash’s wait on Steam, the game has launched today with a discount of 10% for the standard edition, or 25% if you opt for the deluxe version. The deluxe edition comes with a soundtrack of 111 songs.

If you have played SuperMash already be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments below, and if you’ve created any unique games we’d love to have the codes to try them out.

SuperMash is available on Steam now.
