Joule is a versatile Hunter with high mobility burst damage thanks to her Surge resets. She thrives in aggressive scenarios and can easily punish mispositioning as well as clean up team fights through Static stacks. If you want to get good at playing Joule in Supervive, our guide outlines her builds, abilities, and strategies. Whether you prefer straightforward or trickier tactics for the high A Tier character, we got you covered.
Joule Basics, Abilities Overview, and Skill Leveling Priorities in Supervive

Joule excels at disrupting fights with her mobility, allowing her to weave in and out of combat. Her playstyle revolves around stacking Static Charge from basic attacks and abilities. At 4 stacks, her Surge will detonate the Static stacks for massive damage.
You should always use Surge in crucial moments to either escape or secure kills when enemies have max Static stacks. Properly gauge its distance and charge timing for maximum effect. Voltaic Spear can be utilized to poke enemies and control space. Then Thunderstorm can be useful to quickly reposition or escape over walls.
- Static Charge (Passive): Stacks up to 4 on enemies. Basic attacks pierce targets.
- Surge (Shift): Chargeable dash that detonates Static stacks, resetting its cooldown. Essential for mobility, resets, and burst, this is your main source of damage.
- Lightning Strike (Q): Directional AOE knockback that provides setup and disruption.
- Voltaic Spear (RMB): Projectile with knockback that spawns a Lightning Orb. Collect the orb to reset Surge.
- Thunderstorm (Ultimate): Invulnerability and a global dash with AOE knockback. Adds a Static stack to all units in the landing zone. Useful for repositioning and finishing enemies.
When leveling up her skills, you will want to prioritize this order: Surge > Lightning Strike > Voltaic Spear > and Thunderstorm for last. Focusing on Surge is essential for its chaining potential and damage output.
Items and Powers Build for Joule in Supervive

- Interweaver + Rampage: A common all-rounder build. Reliable DPS and survivability. Perfect if you want an easy-to-use build.
- Interweaver + Mindblade: Alternative common build to compensate for Rampage nerf.
- Mindblade + Amplifier: Cooldown reduction build.
- Tech Blade + Mana Blade: Increases cooldown reduction and enhances Mana.
- Quick Blade combinations are useful for agile and aggressive burst gameplay.
For Powers, you will want to prioritize picking these up:
- Abyss Specialist: Fills up Surge on Abyss terrain.
- Delicate X-Ray Goggles: Helps ambush enemies.
- Glider Boost: Gives mid-air dashes and damage fleeing enemies.
- Grappling Hook: An additional option to close in on enemies without using Surge.
- Stealth Cloak: Great for an ambush or flanking during team fights.
- Tactical Nuke: Buffs burst damage for faster kills.
Joule Combos and Mechanics

The most basic bread-and-butter combo or skill rotation for most Joule builds in Supervive is this:
- Basic attacks > Voltaic Spear > Lightning Strike for a knockback → Surge to collect Orbs > Surge to get out. This tactic is also great for chipping tanks or repositioning.
Meanwhile, once you have learned the ins and outs of Joule and her match-ups, you can try executing this advanced one-shot combo:
- Lightning Strike > Voltaic Spear > Surge in to collect Orbs and basic LMB attacks > Surge out to detonate stacks. This ‘one-shot’ combo finishes targets efficiently while allowing escape.
Meanwhile, if you can ambush enemies with Delicate X-Ray Goggles and see an opportunity for a wall stun, this combo is preferable:
- Lightning Strike for a knockback > Thunderstorm > Surge while collecting Lightning Orbs for resets.
Joule is a high-risk, high-reward Supervive Hunter requiring precision build and timing to excel. Simply put, you’ll want to act as a cleanup assassin; stalk fights, apply Static stacks, and Surge in to punish poor positioning. Always prioritize weaker targets for Orbs resets but avoid overcommitting.
