Former TLC Home Sweet Sextuplets star Courtney Waldrop took to social media on Saturday evening to share devastating news with her followers. The family is facing a painful and tragic event and asks for continued prayers and support.
Last week, the mother of nine shared with her fans that her dear father, known as ‘Popsie’ to her children and on the family’s former reality television series, had been hospitalized for 15 days after being diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Pulmonary Fibrosis is a severe and lifelong lung disease that causes the tissue in the lungs to thicken and scar, making it difficult to breathe. In most cases, the cause is unknown. There is no cure for pulmonary Fibrosis, but medications can help slow down scarring and preserve lung function. Oxygen therapy and staying active may also help relieve symptoms.
Last week, Courtney and the Waldrop family remained hopeful. They were awaiting her father’s transfer to another hospital where he could get the specific care needed as he awaited a lung transplant. Courtney shared a video on Instagram of her nine children saying goodbye before her father’s transfer.

Sadly, though, Courtney shared that her father had taken a turn for the worse this evening. She painfully revealed that Popsie’s lungs and heart were failing, and he was no longer strong enough for the heart transplant and lung transplant needed. According to Courtney, t her dad doesn’t have “much time left” and has been given just two months to live. She tells fans that their family is completely ‘devastated‘ and ‘heartbroken‘ by the news.
Posie will now be returning home, where he will be under hospice care and surrounded by his loved ones for the remainder of his days. Courtney Waldrop asks that you “pray that these upcoming days will be filled with a lot of wonderful time together. Memorable time for my children and Popsie.”
Courtney Waldrops’ parents, Gerry and Ramona, have been hands-on grandparents since day one. The energetic pair were often seen on reality TV, helping Eric and Courtney navigate life with their nine children. The oldest son, Saylor, has twin boys, Bridge and Wales, and sextuplets Blu, Layke, Rawlings, Rayne, Tag, and Rivers.
Sweet Home Sextuplets was a popular TLC reality series that aired for three seasons from 2018 to 2020. However, Eric and Courtney’s parents decided their lives were becoming too hectic for the family to continue.
Fans were heartbroken to hear the news. However, Courtney and Eric Waldrop have kept their loyal 650k-plus followers up to date on social media. She updates regularly on the family Instagram page, Gods_Divine_Nine.
Unfortunately, with the good days come the bad days. Courtney Waldrop has promised her father that she would keep fans updated and be ‘very transparent‘ with their fans. Courtney says that she will continue to keep fans up to date. But for now, all that can be done is to keep Popsie, Ramona, and the Waldrops family in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
