As part of the Steam Game Festival – where impending games are spotlighted – the developers over at Grimorio of Games and JanduSoft S.L are excited to announce the official launch for the upcoming Sword of the Necromancer.

Sword of the Necromancer transports the player into the shoes of Tama, a heartbroken fighter who ventures into the depths of the Necromancer to bring back her love from the dead. Inspired by roguelike games and 2D Zelda titles such as A Link to the Past, this top-down dungeon crawler has you gather a litany of weapons and relics against monsters from a different breed of villainy while also utilizing the powerful Sword of the Necromancer. While equipped, this enchanted blade can summon the dead to fight by your side in battle. The fluid combat system encourages experimentation with the procedurally-generated aspect of the game, which will further motivate you to make careful decisions during your journey.

The announcement trailer for Sword of the Necromancer presents the central conflict of Tama on a mission to revive her love, Koko. Accompanied by epic music, we’re treated to action-packed snippets of Tama in action against a variety of foes, while highlighting the reflective and troubled soul of Tama. Keys of a piano echo as the screen turns to titles, revealing the release month for the game.

The Steam Game Festival (running from the 7th-13th of this month) celebrates upcoming games that are due for a release within the next six months. With Sword of the Necromancer being selected for the event’s Autumn Edition, a special 24/7 livestream of the game will be available through the Steam page. There is also a playable demo that gives the players two levels to play from the title before its December release.
