Rocky actor Sylvester Stallone and wife Jennifer Flavin will no longer be residents of California. The couple announced this week that they will be permanently moving from California to Florida.
Stallone has three daughters, though none of them currently reside in California. His two eldest, Sistine and Sophia, moved to New York City together, whereas their youngest, Scarlet, currently attends the University of Miami.
The Announcement Was Made on ‘The Family Stallone’
Despite Stallone’s initial hesitation, his wife insisted they have a change of scenery.
Stallone made the announcement during the season 2 premiere of The Family Stallone, which streams weekly on Paramount+.
“After long, hard consideration, your mother and I have decided it’s time to move on and leave the state of California permanently, and we’re going to go to Florida,” Stallone told his daughters.
As PEOPLE reports, the Stallones decided it was time for a change after their home became “an empty nest” when their daughters all flew the coop.
“I raised all three of our daughters in California,” Flavin said on The Family Stallone. “Everything’s a memory to me, memories of them not being there anymore… so I needed a big change and Sly went along with it,” she said.
The Stallones Received a Warm Welcome From An Unexpected Source
Following the announcement, Casey DeSantis, wife of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, posted a statement to official welcome the Stallones to the “Free State of Florida.”
In the short clip accompanying DeSantis’ message, Stallone confirms that they “already have the place” they’re moving to. In 2020, Stallone purchased a massive 13,241 square feet waterfront mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, for $35.38 million. We can only assume that this is where he and Jennifer will be calling home for the foreseeable future.
Stallone recently recalled filming a fight scene with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin for The Expendables, during which he suffered a hairline fraction in his neck and had metal plates implanted. He is the recipient of a Golden Globe, Critics’ Choice Movie Award, and People’s Choice Award, all for his roles in Rambo, Creed, and Rocky.
