“The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously, and I’m just completely in shock,” Swift wrote on her Instagram Story. The songstress expressed her sadness over “the loss of life and innocence” after discovering that the victims were mostly children. She also brought awareness to “the horrendous trauma” that the victims, their families, and first responders are likely experiencing from witnessing the attack firsthand.

Victims Were Celebrating Swift’s Music When Tragedy Struck
The tragedy occurred on Monday morning. Various kids and their families were attending a Taylor Swift-themed dance workshop on Hart Street when a man suddenly attacked them with a knife. Those who witnessed the incident said it looked like something out of a “horror movie.”
Unfortunately, three children died from the attack. They were all girls, aged six, seven, and nine. The Independent reports that eight other children suffered stab wounds, five of which are in critical condition. Two adults were also critically injured.
