Jennifer Lopez tried to recruit just about every celebrity to make a cameo in her new musical film, This Is Me… Now. While stars like Jane Fonda, Keke Palmer, and Post Malone happily took part in the project, others unfortunately passed on the opportunity. In her film’s behind-the-scenes documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, Lopez revealed she had also asked Taylor Swift to guest star. However, the “Anti-Hero” singer declined the collaboration.
Why Did Taylor Swift Say No to Jennifer Lopez?
At one point during the documentary, Lopez chats with her team about which celebrities had rejected her offer to appear in This Is Me… Now. Someone off-screen could be heard telling Lopez that Taylor Swift is “a no.” They didn’t explain her reasoning for declining, but it’s likely because of her packed schedule. Ever since March 2023, Swift has been performing all around the world as part of her Eras Tour.
Whenever Swift has been free, she uses the opportunity to spend time with Travis Kelce. During football season, the singer flew out to Kansas City several times to watch her boyfriend’s matches. In return, the NFL star also traveled to see Swift throughout her Eras Tour.
It’s too bad Swift couldn’t find time for Lopez’s new film since fans would have gone wild over their reunion. The stars once collaborated in 2013 by performing together on Swift’s Red tour. The pair then met up again the following year at the MTV Video Music Awards. Swift’s cameo would have marked 10 years since they were seemingly last seen together.
Besides Swift, Lopez also received rejections from A-listers like Ariana Grande, Bad Bunny, Snoop Dogg, and Khloé Kardashian. They all said that they were “unavailable” to do her film. While Lopez didn’t get to have her entire dream cast, her musical is still stacked with big names.
