The shooting in Kansas City following the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade is no different. While Swift wasn’t in attendance supporting boyfriend Travis Kelce, her heart is still with the people of Kansas City.
Swift’s Donation Was Split in Two on the Victims’ GoFundMe
The Grammy-winning singer made two contributions to a GoFundMe set up by the loved ones of Elizabeth Lopez-Galvan. Lopez-Galvan, a beloved Kansas City radio personality, was the only fatality of the twenty-two in the tragic shooting. Lopez-Galvan, a beloved local figure, was 43.
Swift left the same message with each of the $50,000 donations. CNN was able to verify that the payments were, in fact, from the entertainer.

The Singer Has Been Generous with Causes Close to Her Heart
There’s no questioning that Taylor Swift is a generous individual. CNN reports that in 2018, the singer made a donation of an unknown amount to March for Our Lives after the Parkland tragedy, and that’s just one instance of her many generous actions. Although she’s not flashy about giving back, Swift is good at making her presence known in these moments.

Swift’s Australian Tour Continues
As the situation regarding the Kansas City Chiefs parade shooting continues to be investigated, Swift continues her Eras Tour in Australia. Originally, people believed the NFL star would follow her there, but that hasn’t happened. Kelce is believed to be in the Kansas City area still, having released a statement following the tragedy.
The “heartbroken” tight end’s team also released a statement addressing the incident and has since done more. In the aftermath, they have also set up an emergency response fund to support the victims and their families. Proceeds donated to the fund will also go to the first responders and additionally will provide violence prevention and mental health services within the area.
