Taylor Swift and Gracie Abrams have joined forces on The Secret of Us. To celebrate their new collaboration, the “Close to You” singer shared a video from the night she and Swift first penned “Us.” While things started off fine, their songwriting session soon took a turn for the worst when a fire broke out in Swift’s New York City apartment. Thankfully, there was a fire extinguisher nearby. Although Swift didn’t know how to use it, she was forced to learn quickly in order to save the day.
Taylor Swift and Gracie Abrams’ Songwriting Session Turns Into A Disaster
Luckily for us, Abrams captured the whole thing on video. In a clip posted to X, Swift could be seen in a frenzy as she tried to figure out how to release the packaging and pin from the fire extinguisher. Since she was struggling with it, Swift asked Abrams for help. However, the singer urged Swift to keep trying so she could learn how to put out a fire herself. Eventually, the songstress managed to successfully release the pin and put out the blaze.
The stars were understandably left in disbelief over what just transpired. After saving the day, Swift stood speechless in the middle of her kitchen as she tried to process things. Meanwhile, Abrams couldn’t help but chuckle from behind the camera. After seeing the damage, Swift noted that their purses, as well as her shoes, were ruined from the incident. Abrams tried to lighten the mood by joking that the kitchen “smells really good,” which sent both her and Swift into a fit of laughter.
Since there was smoke everywhere, Swift and Abrams began coughing while simultaneously laughing. As if there wasn’t enough chaos, the video ended with one of Swift’s cats walking through the door to see what all of the fuss was about.
Abrams shared the video to celebrate the release of her and Swift’s new song called “Us.” The track is featured on Abrams’ second album, The Secret of Us, which dropped on Friday, June 21.
