Congratulations to Debbie Bestwick and Team17
There is some great news today from Team17, the award-winning game developer most famous for their Worms franchise. The company’s CEO, Debbie Bestwick was awarded Businesswoman of the Year at the 2016 Women in Games Awards. Bestwick was also honoured as one of the top 30 Women in Games during the ceremony, which was held in London. This was following her winning a Hall of Fame award at the European Women in Games Conference 2015 and top 100 Women in Games Awards inclusion in 2015.
Debbie Bestwick is one of the founding members of Team17. She went on to become CEO in 2010 and has since succeeded in establishing Team17 as a business which achieves year-on-year profitability and growth. We have included a quote from the CEO in response to her win, check it out below.
“I’m delighted to receive Businesswoman of the Year. I’ve been in games for almost 3 decades now and I’m proud to be part of a very dynamic and adaptive industry. I’ve always pushed for equality and believe we need to embrace everyone that wants to join the industry based solely on their skills.” said Debbie Bestwick, Team17’s CEO.
