Movie-goers and Netflix aficionados rejoice! According to coverage from San Diego Comic-Con, it’s going to be a very busy year for all of us, and fans of classic movies and series have something to celebrate as well with new Star Trek and Dark Crystal series coming out. Let’s take a look at everything that has all of us excited, and possibly even discover something new to get excited for.
Terminator: Dark Fate
Legendary director James Cameron and the director of the Deadpool movies team up in the teaser trailer for the newest installment into The Terminator Franchise. This movie is planned to hit theatres on November 1st, 2019.
Top Gun: Maverick
Tom Cruise reprises his role as Maverick in the new Top Gun trailer in quite possibly one of the most unnecessary sequels of 2020. The sequel to 1989’s Top Gun looks to be as full of adrenaline-pumping, fast, high flying action as the first. This one drops on June 26th, 2020.
Watchmen

A follow up to Zack Snyder’s critically acclaimed take on The Watchmen Comic is becoming an HBO series in October. This trailer set after the events of The Watchmen shows how life has moved on after the cataclysmic events of the movie/book. It looks interesting because it seems to take cues from The Warriors movie by having a bunch of gangs with over the top themes instead of focusing on a smaller group of washed-up heroes.
Westworld Season 3

Keeping with the HBO theme, Westworld Season 3 is on its way out in 2020. From what the trailer promises, it seems that after the critically panned second season, HBO is taking the series to bigger and better locations and hopefully learned from the missteps of season 2.
The Witcher
After months of teasing and speculation, Netflix has finally given us a full look at its Witcher series that it’s coming out within this trailer. Taking place during the books, rather than the video games, this promises to be almost a Game of Thrones-esque look into the world of The Witcher and could be a great introduction to those who were always curious about what inspired the beloved game series. Even if there still is no release date.
Star Trek: Picard
Taking place 20 years after Captain Jean-Luc Picard left the Starfleet, Sir Patrick Stewart reprises his iconic role for this CBS All-Access series. This trailer gained serious hype when the return of several Star Trek: The Next Generation stars made their returns and we can only hope many more will follow.
