Tekken 7
This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information.

In a shocking announcement from Bandai Namco, Tekken 7 will add Negan and his baseball bat “Lucille”  to the game as a part of their season two pass. You can check out the trailer below:

As you saw above, Tekken 7’s season two pass will also add some familiar faces back into their lineup such as Anna Williams and Lei Wulong. There isn’t a price or release date for Tekken 7’s season two pass yet but we’ll keep you updated as we get more information.

Coming from someone who isn’t really a fan of the series, I gotta admit that this news does entice me enough to give Tekken 7 a closer look. Especially when I heard that the series producer of Tekken, Katsuhiro Harada, actually discussed the possibility of adding Negan to the game last year:

with "Lucille"? Haha nice idea.
He is a historic villain, but he is too weak as a fighter. IMO

It will be interesting to hear from Harada on why he changed his mind about adding Negan to the roster and how his team plans to bring The Walking Dead villain in Tekken 7.

We gave Tekken 7 four out of five stars, stating that it is a “superb fighting game that just about anyone can pick up and play.”. To see our full review, click here.

As for Negan, we know that the character will return to The Walking Dead in the show’s ninth season, which airs October 7th on AMC. With Andrew Lincoln leaving the show, Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan is likely to stay a prominent member of the cast for the foreseeable future.

What are your thoughts on these additions? If you aren’t a huge fan of the series, does this news give you any desire to give Tekken 7 a try? Let us know in the comments and be sure to follow us here at The Nerd Stash for all of your nerdy news and needs!
