It’s pretty apparent that Bandai Namco has certainly gone balls to the wall with Tekken 8. It’s changed things up a notch with Unreal Engine 5-powered visuals, some fancy eye candy, detailed models, and some game-changing mechanics and gameplay. But fans really want a piece of what’s cooking. And they want it now, regardless of what they pay. And Harada responded with a ridiculous price for a Tekken 8 Special Deluxe Edition.
Tekken 8 Priced At $2999.99?
It’s evident that Katsuhiro Harada likes to tweet and play around from time to time. And his recent tweet suggests that all too well. A hyped Tekken 8 fanatic and community member, Alexander expressed his frustration about Tekken 8 being in Closed Alpha. And we feel for him. Many of the community members are itching for Tekken 8 and what the title has in store for us.
He wants it now and wants to pay anything to get his hand on the title. Surprisingly, Katsuhiro Harada responded to this outburst on Twitter, and it appears he was in the mood to troll. The franchise creator stated that the Special Deluxe Edition for Tekken 8 will be $2999.99.
For those of you that didn’t pick up on this. Harada is trolling the poor fan wanting Tekken 8 oh so badly. Think of it as some post-April-fools humor. Of course, the title will be priced equally on all platforms. The retail price of any title, including Tekken 8, will always be $69.99 upon release.
And for those who want Tekken 8 badly, you could pre-order it once pre-orders start rolling on select platforms. For now, we just have to wait it out and see esports and tournament players get a taste of Tekken 8 while we band out credit cards against the screen.
So, what do you think of Harada’s meme price for Tekken 8? Would you pay $2999.99 to get your hands on the title early? Let us know in the comments below. Stay tuned for more updates on the NerdStash.
