A driver in Nashville, Tennessee, appeared to be having a lot of fun as he shouted racial slurs at another driver until he noticed a camera. User @TizzyEnt, known for exposing racial encounters, posted a video on X trying to identify the driver. In the clip, the man was sitting in his car with his phone to his ear as he yelled at another driver.

During the exchange, he threw in profanities like the N-word. Disregarding the person’s demands that he should not speak to them that way, the racist driver smiled, defending himself that he didn’t care if he was White.

He then mockingly added, “We’re in Tennessee, it’s where the KKK started.” When the driver turned around, he noticed that a couple of onlookers were recording the entire exchange. Embarrassed, he exclaimed and immediately ducked, reclining his seat. The person behind the camera mocked him for seeking refuge when he noticed they were recording.

The Internet Mocks The Racist Driver’s Timidity

Netizens stormed the comments, analyzing the swift transition between the driver’s seeming boldness and immediate panic upon realizing his actions were being recorded. Many celebrated the level of accountability brought by the internet.  A satisfied user wrote, “Caught in 4k, love to see it.” A commenter noted how the driver seemed to forget that actions have real-life consequences, adding that he probably realized those consequences were just as potent even in Tennessee. Another viewer highlighted the exact moment the driver recognized his mistake, pointing out that the driver’s reaction was enough proof that he was aware his actions were unacceptable.

An amused TikToker focused on the comedy of the driver’s immediate reaction. A second marveled at the speed he used to recline, and another joked that the panic and shock he displayed was so severe it looked like his soul had completely left his body. A user expressed enthusiasm for the inevitable backlash that would follow the clip showing the driver’s action. However, someone suggested that the driver probably moved in circles, which validates his racist behavior, seeing how brazen he was.

An individual using a popular sound wrote, “That moment he realized he [expletive] around and he knows the find out phase is not far behind.” A couple of users shifted the attention to the local climate. One frustrated resident lamented that it was disheartening to live in Tennessee, where the administration creates an environment where racism feels permitted. Another user confessed that they were beginning to realize that racism was prevalent in Nashville.
