The internet spent a summer deciding what Bunnie XO and Dylan Wolf are. He just answered the only part that matters to him, and she already answered the only part that matters to her.
The Tennessee podcaster’s favorite cowboy went on the record at last, with Wolf, 24, telling Us Weekly in an interview published Thursday that his bond with the newly divorced Bunnie, 46, is “super real.” The Calabasas Confidential star, who rose to fame as Netflix’s self-branded Malibu cowboy, said he was “definitely caught by surprise” by the connection that has carried them from a Fourth of July kiss to October.
His fuller answer reads like a man who knows how good he has it. “You know, having the time of my life with an amazing person, and I’m just happy that I’m here and get to be here with her,” Wolf said, adding, “I think the air is pretty clear.” As for where it goes: “I’m happy. I’m happy in this chapter of my life, and I hope it doesn’t change anytime soon.“
Her side of the record has been building all fall. Bunnie credited Wolf with her recovery’s missing piece in her own post, “Hey guys, I’m having fun & he gave my smile back,” and the pair’s public arc is documented: rodeo outings together, and a September video of the two that drew age-gap commenters out in force, with Bunnie pushing back on the noise herself.
It is a genuine reversal from where she stood in July, when she insisted after the viral kiss that she was not dating anybody and described an ice box where her heart used to be. The woman who said that was weeks into a divorce and taking IVs to stay upright; the woman posting about her smile is months past the finalization, and fully allowed to change her answer.
The Jelly Roll of it all stays exactly as friendly as ever. Bunnie said in July that her ex “gets it,” calling the situation no issue at all, and the exes quietly finalized their divorce that same month, listing their $7 million Franklin dream home just this week.
One label is still missing from all of it: neither has ever said the word dating, and Wolf politely declined to define the relationship status outright even while gushing. Everything is confirmed except the vocabulary.
Everything but the Label
The reply threads ran hostile on the age gap, most of it unprintable, and the printable minority split between deadpan doubt and country-canon wit. “‘Super-real,’” one user repeated in scare quotes, letting the punctuation do the arguing, while another reached for the genre’s own songbook: “Save a horse, ride a cowboy.” A third chorus simply asked who Wolf is, which the Netflix algorithm is presumably thrilled about.
A Malibu cowboy, a Nashville podcast queen, a 22-year gap, and two people finally on the record saying they are happy. The internet can keep arguing about the math.
The smile, by her own accounting, is back. That was the whole assignment.
