A Knoxville, Tennessee mother named Megan got a huge shock this week when she actually helped solve a missing persons case. The stay at home mother of five was having an average day with her children, when she noticed something seemed off. What she did next led to a family being reunited with their loved one, and the internet praising her for not only realizing something was wrong, but also using Facebook.

In a TikTok video, Megan revealed that she was running errands with her children in Tennessee when she took one of her kids to a therapy appointment. She and her other children waited for her daughter to be done, and some of the kids wanted to move over to an area of the waiting room where there were toys to play with.

After Megan and the kids moved to the area she noticed a young woman, whom she says looked “lost.” The mother of five says she couldn’t help but catch the woman looking at her, and knew that something seemed wrong about the situation. However, it wasn’t until she opened her Facebook app on her phone that she figured out why.

“I went on my Facebook and the local police station had shared a missing person post and a picture of her. It was this girl. She was 24 years old. She had a medical condition that could prevent her from going back home and she was last seen wearing lavender pajamas. I looked at the picture and I quickly realized. I found her.”

Upon processing what was going on, Megan walked up to the front desk at the therapy office and told the people working there what was going on. The mom realized that she couldn’t approach her because she didn’t want to scare her. The police were called and Megan kept an eye on the woman so that she wouldn’t leave the office.

Eventually, the missing woman’s mother arrived on the scene as well, and Megan says that the “relief” she could see on her mother’s face was amazing and emotional. “From a mom to a mom. My heart just filled up with so much joy,” Megan added.

Of course, TikTok was in awe of the mother’s ability to help this family and return the woman home safely.

“The fact that you saw her while you were seeing the post is a miracle!!!!” one person commented.

“This is so wonderful!!!! You deserve an award!!! You did something a lot of people wouldn’t have done,” another gushed.

“Thatโ€™s amazing! Thank you for sharing and doing the right thing,” a third person chimed in.

“I hope her family sees this so they can say thank you. I know they were probably checking on her when they came to get her and didn’t get the chance then but you definitely deserve to be thanked,” a fourth comment read.

Thankfully, Megan was in the right place at the right time. As a Tennessee mother of five, she understands the heartbreak that the missing woman’s mother must have been going through, and was happy to help reunite the family.
