Not everyone is a fan of dogs, and that seemed to be the case for a Black woman in New York who came face-to-face with one while riding the train. The train was crowded, so the dog ended up right in front of her, with its owner having nowhere else to go. Instead of trying to handle the situation calmly, the woman began yelling at passengers and making racist remarks.
According to witnesses, she had been shouting for a while before someone finally told her to “shut up.” Her response only made things worse; she told all the “White [expletive]” to come make her shut up. She then claimed that people were standing up to her only because she was talking about a dog, and because the dog’s owner happened to be White.
The New York woman didn’t stop yelling. She shouted that she didn’t want any dog touching her, even though it looked like the only way that could happen was if she or the owner moved closer on purpose. Her racist behavior continued when she called the woman recording her “Miss Vanilla.” She then started filming the woman back and eventually began recording everyone on the train, saying they all had “[expletive] to say.”
At one point, she argued that the dog should be in a bag, which, to be fair, is actually part of the MTA’s rules. Still, she could have handled it much differently.
Things kept escalating when the dog’s owner told her he was going to call the police. She told him to go ahead and then called him the N-word, claiming he was acting like a victim and calling him a “male Karen.” According to her, he had been speaking rudely to her first, which she said explained her reaction. Unfortunately, the video didn’t capture that part. She claimed he told her, “I’m not the one to [expletive] with,” and she kept repeating it over and over while daring him to call the cops.
Honestly, both sides were in the wrong. The man should’ve followed the rule and kept his dog in a bag, and the woman should’ve avoided being racist and aggressive.
People Reacting to the Racist New York Black Woman
The comments under the video were brutal and split between people attacking her and people defending her. Many White viewers called out her racism. “The racism is out of control,” one woman wrote. Another man mocked the situation, asking, “Mrs. Vanilla, can you imagine if he said Mrs. Chocolate?!” That sparked replies saying people on the train should not have to tolerate her behavior. “So it’s okay for the lady in the video to be racist, but not for anybody to retaliate with the same level of racism? Dude, you are such a racist. Racists like you should all be dealt with the same way,” one commenter wrote in response to someone defending her. Others who are not White also condemned her, with one person adding, “Uh, I’m not White and she’s saying racist things for sure.”
Not everyone was against the New York woman. Some commenters actually supported her. “She’s valid. What if she was allergic?” one woman asked. Another wrote, “I stand with the Black lady. People have to understand that not everyone is pet-friendly. Be considerate of others—at least put your animal in a carrying case! My mother hates animals and would freak out just like this, so I completely get it. And if people don’t have pets at home, why would they want pet hair all over them or to smell like pets? I just got an allergy panel for my 8-year-old and found out she’s highly allergic to dog hair, so yeah, not everyone wants that [expletive] around them.”
Not everyone agreed with those points, though. This was definitely one of those situations no one wants to witness firsthand.
