A Texas couple accuses a restaurant manager of discrimination after allegedly being treated like children when they wanted to return an order. The couple claims they told the waiter of their dietary needs when ordering, but received an incorrect meal. The incident occurred at JINYA Ramen Bar, a restaurant located in Houston’s Midtown area.

The TikTok video has received over 630,000 views, over 54,000 likes, and over a thousand comments. The video begins with the manager claiming that there are no excuses for mistakes while pointing out that the waiter goes to school and has to get up at 6:30 a.m. The situation becomes more heated when the boyfriend informs the manager, “I’m not arguing.” The manager responds, “I am arguing.” When the couple questions this, she adds, “Next time, don’t give us a hard time.” The girlfriend accuses her of having unprofessional behavior.

I will be pushing this as far as I can, because Olta/Sandra at Jinya showed us that Jinya cares absolutely nothing about their customers, theirs veterans, taking full accountability, and people with special dietary needs. She went from treating us like guests, to children, and then like criminals. I refuse to not share this experience. We were kind, patient, and understanding when addressing her. Do you feel like this was discrimination? #disgruntledemployee #viral #foryoupage #jinyaramenbar #share @StackzandEbony Adventures @👑🏎️🐕‍🦺stackztootrill

The girlfriend argues that “nobody behaved in any type of way. You got really rude for no reason.” The manager accuses them of trying to return all food items. When they ask who she is, she says, “We can refuse service for any reason.” As the argument continues, she claims they don’t want to pay. At the end of the video, she threatens to call the Houston Police Department and tells them they’re banned from coming again. In response, the girlfriend claims, “I’m going to show corporate how you treated us, and hopefully you’ll be banned also.”

Many Offer Support To Texas Couple

Several give their support to the Texas couple, with one commenter even offering to “NEVER go again.” Another agrees, “Definitely out of line, the fact she said she want to argue.” Others applaud them for staying calm, saying, “She tried to get y’all to get loud, and y’all did not buckle. Good on y’all.”

The video has lit a fire for others who are blasting the restaurant for the incident. Some are choosing to leave bad reviews. One says, “Oh, nah, this out of pocket. Let me go leave a review.” Another agrees that “customer service is just so ridiculously unprofessional these days.”

The boyfriend has posted an update video, claiming they have contacted witnesses to the incident. They also thank everyone who commented and shared the video for their support.
