A woman took a flight and lost her handbag when she landed in Texas. Unfortunately, she said she had $1,000 in cash in the bag and, when employees located the bag, it was missing. She decided to take action and file a claim with Frontier in person. But she never expected the employee working there to meet her with an attitude. 

TikToker @misunderstood6865 claimed that she had $1,000 cash inside her handbag when she took a flight with Frontier. Her handbag went missing when she got off her flight. However, the next morning she was relieved to hear from Frontier, who told her they found her bag “in a closet.” Confused, she asked them if her money was in her bag. It wasn’t.

@FlyFrontier told me they found my missing handbag ; and somehow I ended up having the police called on ME. My handbag went missing with almost $1,000 cash inside. The next morning, I received a call/message from a Frontier employee telling me that my bag had been found in a “closet.” Because I knew exactly what was inside my bag, I specifically asked her to check whether my cash was still there. She checked. She told me the money was NOT in the bag. Let me make this very clear: I HAD NOT EVEN GOTTEN MY BAG BACK YET. At that point, I contacted the police because nearly $1,000 was missing from a bag that Frontier was telling me had been found. The police instructed me to file a claim with Frontier and give them the claim number so they could look further into what happened. So I went to Frontier. I asked a Frontier employee, Ms. Natalie, to HELP ME FILE THE CLAIM that the police had specifically instructed me to file. Instead of receiving help, I was met with attitude. And then the police were called on ME. Yes. The woman whose property was missing. The woman whose almost $1,000 was already confirmed missing from her handbag BEFORE she even received the bag back. The woman asking for assistance with filing a claim. I was frustrated and angry and somehow my frustration became the focus instead of the fact that my property was missing and money had allegedly disappeared from my bag. And as a Black woman, I cannot ignore how quickly the “angry Black woman” narrative can be used when we advocate for ourselves. I wasn’t asking for special treatment. I wanted my bag. I wanted to file the claim. And I wanted answers. How did my bag end up in a “closet”? Who had access to it? What was the chain of custody from the time it went missing until it was found? And how was almost $1,000 no longer inside when a Frontier employee checked the bag? Those are the questions I wanted investigated. Instead, I walked away WITHOUT my bag ; and with the police being called on me. This is the video. This TikToker decided to call police and take matters into her own hands so she could get her money back. Police instructed her to “file a claim with Frontier and give them the claim number so they could look further into what happened.” So, she went back to Frontier and spoke with an employee there named Natalie. However, as she says, “Instead of receiving help, I was met with attitude.” 

Her video begins with Natalie calling the police on her, unwilling to help her file a claim for her handbag. She gives them a description of the TikToker, telling them that she won’t leave even though she’s “trying to tell her how to file her complaint online.” In the background, this TikToker kindly states, “I’m waiting for my bag.” 

When Natalie is off the phone, she tells the TikToker to “stop recording” and that she’s “leaving this office.” When she asks Natalie for her last name for reporting purposes, she won’t give it to her and greets her only with attitude. In the end, she didn’t even get her bag back because they allegedly sent it “to a warehouse.” And on top of that, she never received the $1,000 that went missing. She’s now asking for answers about her missing bag and money. She asks, “Who had access to it? What was the chain of custody from the time it went missing until it was found? And how was almost $1,000 no longer inside when a Frontier employee checked the bag?” Unfortunately, she may not receive some of these answers.

Commenters flooded the video, sharing their thoughts and reactions to how she was treated by the Frontier employee. One commenter simply stated, “I have a feeling she took the money.” Another shared, “I used to work for Frontier. It’s definitely the manager who did it or the supervisor, whoever deboarded wherever you left it.” 

Others took Frontier’s side on the matter. One commenter asked, “Who carries $1,000 cash with them when traveling? I can see carrying $100, but not $1,000 It will also be your responsibility to prove the $1,000 cash.” Another stated, “Plot twist: There’s no actual $1,000 cash. It’s a scam.” Commenters continue to voice their opinions and distaste for Frontier based on the behavior they witnessed in the video.
