Texas Janitor Who Peed in Water Supply & Spread Herpes to Co-Workers is ‘Only Facing 6 Years’ in Prison

He got off lightly

A janitor from Texas has recently pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, which, at this point, is a euphemism for what he did because he dipped his genitals in a co-worker’s water bottle and peed in the office water supply. In doing so, the janitor caused a localized office epidemic of STDs.

Lucio Catarino Diaz, 52, is the Texas janitor in question, and he used to work in an office building on Westmont Drive near the East Freeway in Houston. Granted, Houston was part of an outsourced maintenance and cleaning company. In any case, the assault or series of assaults took place back in 2022.

One anonymous woman from the aforementioned office building reported that the water she drank from the office dispenser had a funny taste and smell. Hence, the woman started bringing in their own water bottles. It didn’t take long for the water bottles she brought to also exhibit the same funky smell and taste, which she suspected was urine, and thus notified the Texas police again.

Turns out, Diaz has also been caught in the spy camera that was set up by the aggrieved woman. Diaz was peeing in the water bottles and water cooler while also dipping his penis in the water containers. The janitor was thus charged with assault. A couple of years later, Diaz also pleaded guilty to the crime and admitted he did it out of malicious intent. Now, the janitor faces six years in prison, thanks to KHOU 11’s coverage.

It was too little too late for prevention, however, since the woman who set up the spy camera also claimed that Diaz infected her with herpes simplex 1, an incurable STD.

13 Women Got Infected with Herpes

Sadly, it wasn’t just one victim who unwittingly contracted herpes from Diaz. To date, 13 women working in the aforementioned office building in Houston have also planned to sue either the building owner or Diaz after claiming they all were infected with herpes.

After all, Diaz contaminated the office’s water supply, and not just one woman’s water bottle. Surprisingly enough, Diaz admitted to the police that he had done something similar at a previous job he worked for eight months. Diaz had been serving two years in prison since he was arrested, though he was not labeled as a sex offender.

People online have commented on the matter and pointed out Diaz’s rather lenient punishment for spreading an incurable STD while others have a more humorous jab at the Texas janitor.
