One Amazon driver in Texas was caught demonstrating quite the display of irresponsbility when she allegedly ran into a resident’s mailbox, then fled to avoid confrontation. Reddit Mountain_Broccoli777 had the whole incident recorded on their Ring camera, which showed the driver dropping off a package before heading down the driveway. When turning right, she turned too fast, smashing straight into the mailbox but drove off instead of owning up to her mistake with the homeowner.
Broccoli shared the Ring camera footage on multiple subreddits, explaining how they felt at a loss of what to do. Naturally, one would imagine reaching out to support for help, but OP said, “Amazon support said they couldn’t help me.” As to whether the driver ever returned, Broccoli claimed that “driver never came back even after they appeared to stop right after the knockout.”
OP Believes the Driver Deliberately Drove Off to Flee the Scene
While there is no evidence whether the Amazon driver knew they had hit the mailbox, Broccoli is quite confident she did. “You can see her hesitate and then pretend it didn’t happen,” they wrote, adding how their mailbox hadn’t be damaged in 40 years since the 80s. In other words, this wasn’t a common occurrence with any delivery drivers.
Broccoli claims they were offered a gift card and were contacted by ReservClaim, who’s attempting to handle things on Amazon’s behalf, so it wasn’t like their issue has left out to dry. Still, no one wants their property damaged, by a delivery courier, no less. “The fact that she turns out so she wouldn’t hit it, and then cuts the turn short and smacks tf out of it. Insane,” remarked a commenter.
“Contact their legal department directly, first by email. Don’t bother with support,” suggested another user. While a few others commented on the situations, many more were people were curious about why OP looked like they lived in a fairy tale. “I have my ring filter set to japanese cherry blossom,” was their answer.
