Unfortunately, a lot of people get deceived by businesses that have good reviews. Sometimes, the reviews don’t reflect whether the business should actually be trusted or not. This is a lesson that a Texas woman probably learned after she went to a luxury spa in Dallas called The Joule. The day started okay with nothing wrong, but this quickly changed. She had on diamond earrings and for some reason, the esthetician asked her to put them into a tray. After the service was over, the Texas woman noticed that she didn’t have her earrings with her. Whenever she talked to someone there to ask them to bring the earrings, they told her that the esthetician was working on another client. Instead of causing a scene, the customer was completely calm so far.
After waiting for a while, the staff at the Texas spa told the woman that they didn’t find her earrings. The only possible explanation is that someone stole them. That was when the woman decided to call the police and file a report. She told the receptionist she was recording to avoid any misunderstanding and had no malicious intent. The spa, however, didn’t seem to share that clarity. Instead of helping the woman find her earrings, they made the security officer go over there and tell her that she had to leave. So they basically kicked her out for wanting her things back.
Despite all of this, the woman didn’t cause a scene and simply waited outside for the police to come. A police officer showed up, but it turned out that the spa actually called the police on her. Thankfully, she still managed to file a police report. Apparently, the manager of the spa was the one who ordered the security guard to kick her out. How do they still have customers when they treated one like this? Mind you, she was the victim here and she was the one who lost her diamond earrings.
At the end, the director of the Texas spa called the woman and apologized. The director couldn’t believe what the manager did or that the esthetician didn’t come out and apologize for “losing” the earrings. Instead of finding the woman’s earrings, the director simply refunded her and offered her to come back for a free service which she refused. To the customer, she was more upset about being treated like a criminal. The treatment and the theft are both terrible. Shockingly, though, several customers shared that they were robbed while they were at the spa too.
People Reacting to the Texas Woman Exposing the Spa
A lot of people sided with the Texas woman once they heard her story. They believed that the spa definitely stole her diamond earrings and that they weren’t lost. This made one woman write, “The esthetician definitely stole them. There’s no need for them to be removed.” Another woman said, “They robbed you, your earrings were not stolen they robbed you, your earrings were ganked, the esti took your [expletive], even when she was busted she didn’t give them back. Smh!!!” A third woman then added, “Girl they need to PAY for your earrings…” Dozens of comments also exposed how the spa was actually terrible. “Sue them. My friend had to sue them last year!!” one comment read.
More people shared their terrible experiences with the Texas spa. “I hate the Joule. I had my phone stolen there and they treated me awful,” one woman wrote. Another woman had a similar story as she said, “OMG!!! My SILs surprised me & my bridal party at Joule Spa in Dallas and my 15k wedding ring went missing. When I asked the staff about it or to help me look, they called the police on us BEFORE our service was done and demanded we pay full price. We were so calm but somehow we were.the problem. I filed a police report and did an insurance claim but the whole situation sucks.” The fact that this happened to a lot of people made some claim that the police must be part of the scam. It is certainly weird that the spa keeps getting away with it.
