Pokemon come in all shapes and sizes, with some known for their traits or prowess in battle. But there are also Pokemon known for being adorable, melting the hearts of anyone who sees them. They might not be great for battle, but they are adorable enough to turn into stuffed animals. If you thought you knew them all, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduced new Pokemon into the mix, giving you more choices. If you want to collect the cutest Pokemon for your collection, here are the top ten you want in your games!
The 10 Cutest Pokemon Across All Games
While most people are familiar with the original 151 Pokemon, many of the cutest Pokemon are found in different generations. This list isn’t going to focus on Pokemon that are good in battle or have uses in other parts of the game. Instead, it will focus on the Pokemon with a cute appearance, which many players would collect just because they are cute.
10. Stufful
Stufful is similar to a bearcub, and its adorable appearance hides a strength powerful enough to knock people over. Its evolution Bewear can be useful in some teams when starting out, but you are likely to replace Stufful once you find better Pokemon. When it comes to being cute, it’s up there with some of the cutest Pokemon as one of the top contenders. Its movement animations and face are enough to get a reaction out of most people, mainly because it looks harmless and cute. You can find Stufful in Pokemon Sun & Moon, Ultra Sun & Moon, and Sword & Shield.
9. Sandshrew
Sandshrew is a mouse Pokemon just like Pikachu, but you might not have noticed despite appearing right after Pikachu and Raichu in the Pokedex. It often curls up into a ball, but its best features are often seen when it is standing upright. Its yellow Ground type is the most common, but you can also find Alolan Sandshrew, which has a light blue color. Both are equally cute, and their evolution Sandslash is not too shabby in the mid-game. While you likely won’t be using Sandshrew or Sandslash for more than filling out your Pokedex, Sandshrew is still adorable to look at. Sandshrew is in every Pokemon game except Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.
8. Riolu
Riolu is a rare Pokemon that was first introduced in Pokemon Diamond & Pearl. They are hard to find, but you do get one from an Egg after helping Riley at Iron Island. Riolu is a pure Fighting type that isn’t powerful on its own, though it is a Pokemon whose head you want to pat. If you are friendly enough with Riolu and it levels up, it turns into the powerful Lucario. Apart from its Fighting/Steel type, Lucario can be a powerful Pokemon that carries you through the late game and is powerful enough to fight in competitive battling. Riolu is present in every Pokemon game, starting from Pokemon Diamond & Pearl, giving you a chance to gain a powerful combatant for yourself.
7. Zorua
Zorua is a Dark Pokemon that was introduced in Pokemon Black & White. It often disguises itself as other Pokemon, and you usually don’t know you encounter a Zorua until after you deal some damage to it. It evolves into Zoroark, which is a decent Dark type Pokemon though it falls behind some of the other Pokemon later on. If you can get yourself a Hisuian Zorua, it has a different color, and it is far more powerful in competitive play when it evolves into Hisuian Zoroark. Even if you never plan on using Zorua, it’s still worth getting for its cute fox look. Zorua is present in Pokemon Black & White, X & Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Ultra Sun & Moon, Sword & Shield, and Scarlet & Violet.
6. Pikachu
Who can forget the classic Pikachu, who debuted in the anime and continued staying on our screens for years to come? Pikachu is a cute mouse Pokemon who is often the face of the Pokemon franchise, though other mascots have appeared since then. Despite Pikachu’s incredible prowess in the anime, it’s not that great in the games, even when you evolve it into Raichu. You can sometimes run into its pre-evolved form Pichu if you know where to look. Its advantage is that it is one of the first Electric Pokemon you encounter in a game and is fast. Unless you try to complete your Pokedex, you won’t see much of Pikachu or its evolutions. Pikachu has been present in every Pokemon game since the beginning, and it’s not likely to break that streak.
5. Eevee
Eevee has always been a popular Pokemon with its multiple evolutions and their unique designs, but you might not have known much about the Pokemon at first. It wasn’t until Let’s Go Eevee came out that Eevee started gaining more prominence, eventually rising to become a mascot character synonymous with the Pokemon series. Eevee is a decent Normal type, but the real draw is the ability to evolve Eevee into various evolutions depending on your needs. Some evolutions are simple to achieve, while others require more effort. The evolutions are powerful enough to get you through the game and fill missing spots on your team, but you likely won’t use them much in competitive play. Eevee is present in every Pokemon game since Pokemon Red & Blue.

4. Minccino
Minccino is a Pokemon that’s all about cleanliness, and it looks like a chinchilla. Its small and cute appearance is easily noticeable, often making players gush when they see one for the first time. Its evolution, Cinccino, is a larger and more fashionable version of Minccino that still retains its cute features. They are most likely collected for filling out Pokedexes since they are not powerful combatants in Pokemon battles. But if you ever need a cute Pokemon, Minccino easily comes to mind. Minccino can be found in Pokemon Black & White, X & Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Ultra Sun & Moon, and Sword & Shield.
3. Morpeko
Morpeko is a rodent Pokemon, similar to Pikachu and Sandshrew on this list. It’s also the first “hangry” Pokemon, changing between its Full Belly and Hangry Mode at the end of each of its turns. While it is properly fed, Morpeko has a cute appearance and is very friendly. If Morpeko is ever hungry, it turns purple and becomes aggressive, constantly searching for food until it is fed. These modes aren’t just for show; Morpeko is an Electric/Dark type, and its mode determines the type of Aura Wheel, its signature move. Morpeko is only found in Pokemon Sword & Shield.
2. Emolga
When you think of cute Pokemon, it’s not hard to think of Emolga. It’s a flying squirrel Pokemon and a dual Electric/Flying type. Emolga is one of the cutest Pokemon you will encounter, and catching it is almost a priority for the Pokedex. It’s a decent early game Pokemon, but you will likely find significantly more powerful Pokemon as the game goes on. In terms of cuteness, it is hard to beat, and you will not find many Pokemon that can match its looks. Emolga can be found in Pokemon Black & White, X & Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Ultra Sun & Moon, and Sword & Shield.
1. Cubchoo
Saving the cutest Pokemon for last, Cubchoo is one of the most adorable Pokemon you will see. It will only be found in cold areas, but catching one is worth the effort. Cubchoo and its evolution Beartic can be great additions to your party if you don’t have many Ice-types in your roster. While there are better Ice-type Pokemon, you will come across. They can fill any Ice-type gaps in your party until that happens. Even if you replace Cubchoo, it’s almost certainly for utility purposes rather than wanting to take it out of your party. Cubchoo is found in Pokemon Black & White, X & Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Sword & Shield, and Scarlet & Violet.
