Our favorite comedy-drama chef show is coming back. FX has renewed The Bear for season 3. This comes in after a lengthy wait as the highly acclaimed season 2 ended in June; then it was crickets from the studio of whether or not we would reunite with these characters. Now, we will have to patiently wait to see what is next for Jeremy Allen White and his kitchen staff.
The next outing will have plenty to tackle. The previous season followed Carmy (White), Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and the rest of the staff to turn their rusted restaurant into a polished, fine dining experience. It also starred Lionel Boyce (Marcus), Liza Colón-Zayas (Tina), Abby Elliott (Natalie), Matty Matheson (Fak), and Molly Gordon (Claire).
The Bear Renewed for Season 3 at FX for More Drama and Comedic Antics
Hulu and FX had a major hit from the first season, which debuted in 2022. Its frantic energy, high-level drama, sense of humor that balanced out the drama, saliva-inducing food, and captivating cast brought it to its success. The Christopher Storer-created series has been nominated for 13 Emmys.
Between the first two seasons, The Bear has greatly evolved in a way that builds a bridge to season 3. The story has set itself for the next outing after the major drama that shook up the opening of the fancy new restaurant, leaving some much-needed resolutions. While giving more of what fans expected after coming off that first season, the sophomore season explored more of Chicago, went into new territory outside of the city, and had major surprise cameos like John Mullaney, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Olivia Colman, and Will Poulter.
While it should ease fans’ anticipation that The Bear season 3 is coming, the wait will be tedious. Currently, actors are still on strike. Most of the cast are SAG actors; they will be unable to get to set until they reach a deal with studios, which has been difficult for actors wanting fair pay and not being replaced by AI. The good news is that scripts should start being developed in the coming months, so whenever actors get their deal, some pre-production will have been completed.
The Bear season 3 has no release window that should be expected. The first two seasons are available on Hulu.
