The Best of Both Worlds Blend Together Only for Arcane’s Second Season

Trap and K-pop

Riot Games strives to conceive only the best of the best for Arcane, as for the League of Legends universe. This includes the music, as happened in Arcane‘s first season, which featured a unique collaboration with Imagine Dragons. Another example is the official song of LoL‘s World Championship every year. Also, there is a special division in the music department that many love, and that is the inclusion of K-pop, as with K/DA. Arcane‘s most recent surprise is that for its second season soundtrack, they will have the single “Come Play,” in which Stray Kids and Young Miko worked together. If you ask me, this is a very unique and unexpected mix.

Stray Kids is already a popular K-pop group worldwide. It has been active since 2017 and has a huge fan base. Although they are a Korean group in their discography, they also have albums in Japanese and, like many others in the industry, they have more and more fully English content. So, for many, it is a pleasant surprise to see the participation of Stray Kids with a single almost entirely in English. By almost, I also mean the participation of Young Miko in this same single.

Many may think Young Miko is not that popular, but she is a great Puerto Rican singer and songwriter who debuted in 2021. With so few years in the industry, she already has several singles and two albums of Spanish music. It is such her fame that she has collaborated with artists like Peso Pluma, Cazzu, Nicki Nicole, and Bad Bunny. She even joined the stage with Bad Bunny in 2022.

So it’s innovative how, in the collaboration to create “Come Play” for Arcane‘s second season, we have a song mainly in English with a touch of K-pop by Stray Kids. Add to that a sprinkle of Trap and Urban music in Spanish during the long verse with Young Miko’s voice. It’s certainly something I didn’t expect or imagine, but “Come Play” now is one of my favorite songs this year and maybe the next one. I can’t wait to see what else Arcane has planned for its three acts this November. Starting on November 9th and ending on November 23rd.
