Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 features a plethora of perks that you can grab to make the best version of Henry there is. While not all players may work toward the same build, there are some perks that will help every playthrough, and you should obtain them as soon as possible. A few of them will take time to unlock, while others are quite easy to get. Regardless, you should watch out for them if you want to make your Bohemian escapades a bit smoother.
1. Revenant
The first perk you’ll need, and one of the best in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, is Revenant and, by addition, Revenant II. Both of them are under the Vitality skill tree and provide a very useful passive that helps mitigate the harsh mechanic of healing Henry. As you know, Henry only heals up when sleeping, using a bathhouse, or drinking potions. These perks will regenerate Henry’s HP to 50 and 75 points. This can be useful, especially if you don’t have any potions on you or are far away from a cozy bed or a bathhouse.
2. Martin’s Heritage
While you can pick between Henry’s two dads’ heritages, Martin is the winner here. This perk increases the experience Henry gets in Fighting, Crafting, and Survival skills by 10%. It may not seem like a lot, but if you combine the experience increase with other perks, Henry will be gaining levels in the blink of an eye. Furthermore, these three skills are more useful than the ones in Radzig’s perk, so Martin is the best option here. You can find the perk under the Main Level tree, and when you pick this one, the Radzig one will get locked.
3. Nimble Stance
Dodging is one of the best mechanics in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and to make dodging much easier, you can grab the Nimble Stance perk. This perk decreases the cost of dodging by 40%, meaning you won’t spend as much stamina while doing so. You’ll need to reach level 8 in Agility first, but doing so doesn’t take a lot of time, especially since Agility is one of the easiest skills to level up.
4. Partner in Crime
Even if you’re not a fan of stealth-oriented gameplay, the Partner in Crime perk allows you to sell any stolen item without getting detected. This is huge, even for those who prefer a more honorable approach to situations. You might defeat a few bandits and loot their belongings, but some will be marked as stolen. With this perk, you can sell their stuff without any repercussions. You’ll need level 20 in Speech to obtain it, though.
5. Martin’s Secret
Martin shows up once more with yet another perk that is truly one of the best in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Martin’s Secret lets players craft the best weapons in the game, which is the fourth tier. This is huge, especially in the final portions of KCD 2, when enemies start showing up with better armor, and your tier 3 weapons aren’t that great anymore. You’ll need to reach level 16 in Craftsmanship to unlock this perk.
6. Explorer
We’re not listing perks from worst to best, but if we were, this would be at the top of any Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 list. The Explorer perk, which requires 18 in Scholarship, unlocks the whole map. Yes, you read that right. It unlocks everything and even shows you the POIs, fast travel points, and secret locations. It might take away a bit of the discovery aspect, but we feel it makes sense as Henry learns from the regions and has enough knowledge to know where everything is. It will take a while to get this perk, but obtaining it will be a game-changer.
7. Wonders of…
Instead of listing just one perk, we’ll leave this entry for the Wonders of Man, Beasts, and Nature perks. Each of these perks increases experience gain by 20% for certain skills. Some of the skills affected by this perk are Horsemanship, Craftsmanship, Thievery, Survival, and so on. While you can level those skills quickly, increasing your experience gains will make things even easier, so if you want to run a specific build, consider grabbing at least one of these or all three if you want.
8. Flower Power
Here’s a flashback of Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Flower Power is likely the first perk everyone got in the first game. Grabbing it gives you a Charisma boost as long as you have fresh herbs in your inventory. This time, dried herbs count, too. It might not seem like the best perk in the game, but it is quite useful, especially since Henry goes through a “rags-to-riches” phase in the early hours. You only need 8 in Survival to obtain it.
9. Tool Master
During the game’s opening hours, lockpicks will be scarce and a bit difficult to obtain, which is why Tool Master is a great perk to grab. By using it, your lockpicks will be more durable and last 15% before breaking. In addition, if you break a lockpick but end up unlocking the chest or door, the game will refund you one lockpick. You only need level 8 in Thievery to grab this perk.
10. Water of Life
Last but not least, we have Water of Life under the Alchemy tree at level 12. This perk makes healing potions heal you 25% faster. At first, it may not seem too useful, but it is vital. When fighting, drinking a Merigold Concoction will take a while before its healing effects fully end. With Water of Life, you’ll gain your HP back faster. Plus, if you combine it with some of the above perks, you’ll be healing Henry with ease and without taking him to a bathhouse or a tavern after every fight.
