You might not think a K-Pop serial killer would thrive in The Entity’s Realm, but Behaviour disagrees. Despite his slow movement speed, The Trickster is a deadly ranged killer who is all but inescapable in the open. Although it takes a flurry of throwing knives to put survivors down, Trickster has the accuracy and ammo to pull it off. Whether you’re a meta devotee, meme-build enthusiast, or brand-new player, these loadouts will help your knives find their mark. Here are the best Trickster builds in Dead by Daylight.
Meta Build
Corrupt Intervention | The Plague |
Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance | The Artist |
Pop Goes the Weasel | The Clown |
Agitation | The Trapper |
DbD veterans know that playing the killer is all about controlling generators. Whether you’re stalling, regressing, or simply downing survivors fast, keeping the gates closed means victory. This meta build takes the blunt approach, stacking three of the strongest gen regression and stall perks in the game. With Agitation in the mix to make getting to your Scourge Hooks easier, the gens won’t stand a chance. As long as you can get the ball rolling with a down or two, your momentum will be difficult to stop.
Corrupt Intervention temporarily blocks the three gens farthest from you at the start of the Trial, denying survivors early progress. Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance damages the most progressed generator each time you hook a unique survivor on a Scourge. Pop Goes the Weasel heavily damages the first generator you kick after hooking. Agitation makes you much faster when carrying a survivor, cutting your downtime and making Scourge Hooks easy. As long as you can get your first down while Corrupt is still active, your defenses should prove overwhelming.
Blood Favor Build
Hex: Blood Favor | The Blight |
Hex: Undying | The Blight |
Hex: Pentimento | The Artist |
Deadlock | The Cenobite |
This Hex build uses Blood Favor to lock down pallets whenever you injure someone. Considering Trickster can pepper a survivor with knives across small and medium loops, that’s a devastating power to have. Even if survivors cleanse your other Hexes, Pentimento and Deadlock will slow the game. It’s a loadout that forces survivors to make a terrible choice, and that alone makes it one of the best Trickster builds in Dead by Daylight. It’s also passive like The Cenobite‘s box, working its magic with minimal attention required.
Hex: Blood Favor blocks all pallets near any survivor who loses a health state, preventing their use for 15 seconds. Hex: Undying sacrifices itself in place of another Hex whenever it would be destroyed, preventing survivors from cleansing Blood Favor easily. Hex: Pentimento lets you rekindle destroyed totems, inflicting a series of debuffs on survivors. Deadlock blocks the generator with the most progress whenever another generator is completed. If survivors don’t cleanse, then Blood Favor will eat them up. If they do, Pentimento strikes instead. That’s a symphony an evil K-Pop idol can love.
Basic Build
Hex: Crowd Control | The Trickster |
No Way Out | The Trickster |
Tinkerer | The Hillbilly |
Starstruck | The Trickster |
Though he isn’t one of the hardest killers to pick up, Trickster has a learning curve. Since new players don’t have all the perks unlocked, learning the ropes of this knife-tossing idol is even harder. With a simple tweak to Trickster’s Adept build, however, you have something solid. This mix of chase, lethality, stealth, and stall gives you a tool for most situations. It lacks regression, but it should deliver enough fast hooks to make up for it. Just beware, because Crowd Control and Starstruck can both be fickle, especially on certain maps.
Hex: Crowd Control blocks the first five windows that survivors quick-vault through, helping corral them for quick downs. No Way Out blocks the exit gate switches, preventing survivors from opening the gates and leaving too soon. Tinkerer alerts you and grants Undetectable whenever a generator reaches 70% completion for the first time. For a killer so deadly up close, that means free downs. Starstruck Exposes survivors caught in your Terror Radius when you pick up a survivor, forcing them to play cautiously or perish. It’s music to this singer’s ears either way.
