When it comes to the newest game in the Zelda franchise, Tears of the Kingdom, you’re likely going to be wondering what the best kind of weapon fusions are. Even before the game properly came out, people have already theorized on how to create weapons, vehicles, and other vessels of destruction in the game. If you thought that the game was broken before, think again when it comes to the sequel. Now that you know you can fuse weapons, what do you do with this power? What are the best Zelda Tears of the Kingdom weapon fusions? That’s what this article is for. Below we’ll give a quick rundown of some of the best weapon fusions in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom and how you can make them.
Rocket Shields
This is probably one of the first things you thought of when you realized you could fuse things together. (We know we did.) Since you can ride shields, the natural conclusion is: strap a rocket onto that bad boy. We may have a glider, but we’re about to fly. Rockets are Zonai machines that you can use to power your bigger machines. Normally we’d be using these for bigger things, but in this case, we will try to slap one onto a sizable shield and ride that thing like we’re surfing in the air. Once you fuse the rocket to the shield, hold out the shield with ZL. Then, you should go flying up. Keep in mind, though, this is a temporary boost. The rocket will disappear after shooting you for a distance, so it should only be used to perform sick tricks or get across a small space. (Not to get to a Sky island. You will fall.)
Monster Swords
It may be simple, but barbaric wields still get the job done. At the beginning of the game, simple fusions can end up being some of the best Tears of the Kingdom weapon fusions. If all you want to do is smash, attaching a sturdy horn to a sturdy stick can make for a primitive axe or hammer. Having a one-handed spikey stick with a shield can put up a pretty good fight for most enemies. Two-handed weapons tend to leave you open for attack, so while you’re getting used to the controls, consider sticking to one-handed swords as a start. First, find some monster material, like a Bokoblin horn. Then, attach it to any one-handed sword base. From there, you now have a sword with a little extra punch.
Jelly Arrows
One of the best Zelda Tears of the Kingdom weapon fusions are the ones you can make out of arrows and slime. If you find yourself short on explosives, jelly can work as a nice substitute. Chuchu jelly comes in all sorts of shades, but make sure you get them correct while you’re fusing things away. For example, the red, white, and yellow jelly will make a dutiful explosive arrow. White will deal ice damage, yellow electricity, and red, as you might have guessed, is fire. Electricity can stun enemies, ice freezes them in place, and red sets them ablaze, dealing damage to them over time.
Flower Arrows
Need bombs? They’re yours, my friend, as long as you have enough flowers. (That was a reference, sorry.) Instead of just having Bomb Arrows right out of the packaging, in this game, some of the best Tears of the Kingdom weapon fusions are the ones you can fire without care at others. First, hunt down some bomb flowers, then fuse them together with a regular arrow. You can find bomb flowers in caves or within the Depths if you’re brave enough to venture.
Wing Arrows
Wing Arrows are quite valuable in Tears of the Kingdom. They make for some of the best Tears of the Kingdom weapon fusions because they can make your arrows fly so much farther. If you’re trying to hit a target from especially far away, Wing Arrows are your best bet. These weapons can act like the sniping equivalent of arrows, sending your shot as far as it needs to go. These Wing Arrows can be especially helpful for certain bosses.
Eye Arrows
Sounds gross, right? Well, it’s a tactic you might want to employ if you’re a bad aim. An Eye Arrow is one of the best weapon fusions in Tears of the Kingdom because it adds a bit of a homing effect to your arrow. Remember, it’s not perfect, and your aim will help. But if you’re having trouble staying on target, having some Eye Arrows can really save your aim.
