The most provocative series on TV is growing. The Boys season 4 has added three new cast members, including the return of Simon Pegg. The new actors include Elliot Knight (American Gothic), Rosemarie DeWitt (The Staircase), and Rob Benedict (Supernatural). The only newcomer who we know the role of will be DeWitt, who will play Hughie’s mother, alongside Jack Quaid (Hughie) and her husband/his father, Hugh, who Pegg played in five episodes across the series.
This is the second wave of new cast members to join The Boys season 4. Previously, it was announced that Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Walking Dead), Susan Heyward (Orange Is the New Black), and Valorie Curry (The Tick) would join the original cast in the superhero series.
The Boys season 4 adds three to cast, continuing Supernatural casting train
Showrunner and creator Eric Kripke was the creator of Supernatural and had since cast plenty of alumni to his Prime Video superhero series. In the last season, we got Jim Beaver as politician Robert Singer and Jensen Ackles as supe Soldier Boy, a grim take on Captain America. The CW series saw Beaver as Bobby Singer, Ackles as Dean Winchester, Dean Morgan as John Winchester, and Benedict as Chuck Shurley.
Kripke is continuing to set his sights on expanding the world beyond having another outing with the main superhero show. A college-centered spinoff is in the works, titled Gen V, which will see college student supes as they get degrees, party, and have gory adventures, as seen in the main series.
No date has been given for The Boys season 4. It is currently in the works with a hopeful 2023 release, giving us plenty of the world as Gen V also aims to hit Prime Video in 2023. You can currently catch up on the show by watching all three seasons on the streaming service.
