When you think of modern looter shooters, chances are a few come up on your list. Borderlands, Destiny 2, and, most important for this, The Division 2. The game has garnered serious acclaim among critics and fans, offering many hours of content in an expansive world. I got it when it was on sale for $4 a while ago, and had a lot of fun playing through the story with a friend. Today, Ubisoft released Title Update 11 for the game, bringing a host of new features to the third-person shooter. To celebrate, Ubisoft is hosting Twitch Drops and a free weekend for players to try out the game!

The Division 2 free weekend starts on September 24 (Thursday) and goes all the way until September 28 (Monday). During this time, anyone who owns a platform the game is on can download and try with no additional cost. This includes Xbox One, PS4, Stadia, UPlay, and the Epic Games Store. If you purchase the game during the weekend, you can keep your progress and push forward to save New York. You can also take advantage of the Twitch Drops on offer if you plan to buy, giving some interesting rewards. Those who watch The Division 2 streams on Twitch for 30 minutes get three Legacy Caches, while those who watch for one hour get a cute milkshake backpack trophy. Make sure you have your UPlay account linked to your Twitch account to be eligible for these drops.

For those like me who already own the game, you have a lot to look forward to with the latest Title Update starting today. Title Update 11 for The Division 2’s biggest change is The Summit, a mode exclusive to owners of the Warlords of New York DLC. This mode puts a squad or solo player into a high-rise building, having them fight up 100 floors of increasingly difficult enemies. Those who reach the top can fight a special battle, giving great rewards to those who conquer it. You can also enjoy the start of Season 3, along with major improvements to the game for all players.

It’s a great day for both new and veteran players of The Division 2, with a lot of new content to explore. We’d like to hear your thoughts on today’s news. Will you be loading up the game and conquering The Summit with your buddies? Are you going to be one of the free weekend players? Let me know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
