Unfortunately, fans looking forward to the DC comic film adaptation The Flash will have to wait until 2023 for a trailer. The film has experienced several production delays and the actor’s troubles off-camera. The delay of The Flash trailer to 2023 is yet another setback for the Warner Bros. Discovery DC comic film adaptations. The CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslav, has given a lot of support for the film and Ezra Miller. James Gunn and Peter Safran were recently hired to lead the DC Universe plans. To say that the media conglomerate is banking on its DC universe films would be an understatement. The Shazam sequel and Black Adam are other big projects done by the media company. Zaslav has a 10-year plan that he thinks will jumpstart the DC Universe franchise, but only time will tell if it pays off.
The DC Universe Has Lots of Moving Pieces
Warner Bros. Discovery has been competing with Disney for a while now with its many DC Universe comic film adaptations. Zaslave has even cited the plan Alan Horn and Bob Iger made with Kevin Feige at Disney as motivation for his 10-year plan. He has said that they are “not going to release any film before it’s ready.” Warner Bros. Discovery may not have phases for their DC Universe comic film adaptations like Disney. In fact, they have held onto Ezra Miller as Barry Allen for dear life despite his bad press. At least fans can look forward to The Flash trailer in 2023. The Warner Bros. Discovery comic film and series adaptations are being rolled slowly, but it must be part of the 10-year plan. For now, fans can look forward to Henry Cavill returning as Superman.
The media conglomerate is putting a lot of faith and money into its DC Universe plans. How do you think Warner Bros. Discovery’s 10-year plan is going so far?
