Bachelor Nation is still getting its bearings after being rocked by the finale of The Golden Bachelor. Now, Gerry Turner and Leslie Fhima are both opening up about some of what went down off-camera in the Fantasy Suite.
Leslie Fhima Explained Why She Felt Lied to by Gerry
Runner-up Leslie Fhima appeared on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, where she opened up about her time in the Fantasy Suite with the Golden Bachelor.
“He made plans with me for [the] future,” Leslie explained. “He said kind of, like, ‘Save the date, this is what we’re going to do. I can’t wait for us. Two more days [and] we’ll be done with this, be together, start our life.'”
Leslie told podcast hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt that Gerry “all but” proposed.
“Did he say, ‘Will you marry me?’ in there? No, but he all but said that” she shared.
Leslie went on to emphasize that she wasn’t pressuring him and didn’t have firm expectations for that particular night. She continued, “I would’ve been happy with just, ‘I love you,’ but he took it to a different level.”
At the end of their time together that next morning, Leslie recalled Gerry “turned around three times and blew me kisses.”
“He didn’t want to leave,” she explained. “That’s why I wasn’t worried that he was going on a date [with Theresa] … There were things he said to me in the overnight that alluded to his overnight with Theresa wasn’t going to be the same.”
Gerry Turner Made an Attempt To Defend Himself
Gerry also identified the Fantasy Suite as a turning point but described it differently. “There were conversations in the Fantasy Suite that were very revealing to me,” he told the hosts during his own appearance.
“Quite honestly, because they’re in the Fantasy Suite and they’re not in front of cameras or microphones, I feel like it’s appropriate to keep that in the Fantasy Suite and leave that there.”
Gerry and Theresa are due to be married in a live wedding special airing Thursday, Jan. 4.
