As one of the most popular video games of recent years, gaming fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of HBO’s The Last of Us series. However, like any other adaptation of a video game, fans worry about whether or not the makers of the adaptation will stay true to the original story. Fortunately, according to a report from Comicbook.com, a set leak from HBO’s The Last of Us has confirmed a major scene from the game will take place during the series. Spoilers ahead!

For those who have played The Last of Us, a truck crashing into a laundromat should sound familiar. In the game, the main characters Joel and Ellie are ambushed while driving a truck. This ambush ultimately leads to Joel crashing their truck into a building, which concludes in an epic fight sequence. This set leak confirms that this scene, or at least some version of it, will occur during HBO’s The Last of Us series.
The Last of Us series is based on a 2013 video game of the same name. It follows smuggler Joel as he helps escort a teenager named Ellie across a post-apocalyptic version of the United States. For the HBO series, the role of Joel will be played by fan-favorite actor Pedro Pascal, and the role of Ellie will be played by Bella Ramsey. Those two will be joined by actors Anna Torv, Gabriel Luna, Nico Parker, Con O’Neil, Storm Reid, and more for the series. It is being written and executive produced by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann.
