Announcing James Corden‘s CBS exit was a bittersweet experience for the talk show host, but as much as fans of The Late Late Show will miss him after it’s canceled, they are getting ready for his show with the series “@Midnight.”
James Corden’s CBS exit after seven years on the show was first announced last year. “The Late Late Show” host then shared with Drew Barrymore his inspiration for leaving.
He confessed that after a conversation with his son who felt dejected because of his work routine, he resolved to quit the show.
“Really, the choice was to go, ‘if I want to do this other work, that cannot be at the expense of our children and our family.’ And that is really all it comes down to,” he stated.
James Corden’s CBS exit will be complete after he hosts “The Late Late Show” in the summer of 2023. But while many anticipated a new host unveiling, the network confirmed that it may be canceled.

Amid putting his family first, Deadline reported that James Corden’s CBS exit was a “really hard decision.” He shared his hopes for the show and how proud hosting it made him feel. While speaking to People, he admitted that on the D-Day of his exit, he may be emotional. According to Corden:
“I worried about crying too much. But at the same time, I just got to take a breath and know that there’s a lot to do between now and then.”
The TV presenter, who has filmed a new project “Mammals,” mentioned his beloved time on the show was meeting people and making friends. But while he may not continue his hosting gig, he intends to protect the memories he made as a host on “The Late Late Show.”
