Hello everyone! I’m the host of The Nerd Stash Show, Brandon Stephenson, and I hope you’ve been having a fun and safe start to your summer. I know mine has been busy, in part because of The Last of Us Part II launching on PlayStation 4!

I was excited to play the game as I’m a big fan of the original — as I’ve mentioned in previous episodes. So much so, I played through the game as fast as I could (with a brief break to review SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated).  After 25 hours, I completed the game and couldn’t stop thinking about it.

Sitting on the couch alongside me, was my wife. We screamed, theorized, and tackled Seattle together. Here’s the thing, my wife isn’t a gamer. I’ve gotten her to play games before — Lego games, Mario Kart, and Smash Bros. round out most of her experience. But as I’ve talked about The Last of Us so much in the past, I convinced her to watch my replay of the original and be there with me as I played through the sequel.

On a whim, we decided to talk about The Last of Us Part II in-depth. I come at it from a gamer’s (and fan) perspective, while she comes at it from a non-gamer’s perspective.

We both hope you all enjoy this unique approach to the spoiler discussion. If I can get personal here, this truly is my favorite thing I’ve ever been a part of since I got to share this with someone I care about so deeply. I’m proud of my wife for taking this as seriously (she’s also never been apart of a podcast before!) as she did, and she challenged me to be a better host. She asked me questions I wasn’t expecting to answer. I hope this comes across during the three-hour discussion!
