Palworld has certainly had its fair share of issues since its launch, and while the plagiarism claims might have quieted down, the trouble’s not over yet. Earlier today, Palworld launched update 0.2.0.6, and Xbox players almost immediately discovered an issue with loading their multiplayer save data. Palworld developer Pocketpair is aware of the issue and has already posted a response to the game’s official Twitter, but Xbox users are only getting more frustrated as the issues remain in effect until a fix can be pushed out, and no one knows when that’s going to be.
Palworld Update 0.2.0.6 Is Deleting Xbox Multiplayer Saves
Palworld update 0.2.0.6 was released to Steam back on April 4th, but Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S players are only getting it today. The new update brings the game’s first Raid Boss, Bellanoir, as well as ways to hatch Bellanoir from Pal Eggs after completing its Raid. Additionally, there’s a bunch of new items, new ways to earn XP and skill points, a new building, and changes to existing Pals like Kelpsea, which makes it that much more frustrating that the new update is wrecking havoc on Xbox’s multiplayer saves.
According to developer Pocketpair, the issue with the new Palworld update is centered around a malfunction that is causing multiplayer save data to not load correctly when an older save is loaded. The developer team has released an announcement saying that they’ve “identified the cause” of the issue and are working on a fix, but they warn players not to load any multiplayer save data until they can put out a fix. Also, players shouldn’t create any new save data, since multiplayer save data created after Xbox update 0.2.0.6 will no longer be able to be loaded after the fix is released.
Frustratingly, it’s impossible to tell when the issue will be fixed since Pocketpair is a relatively small developer. We hope it’ll be fixed soon, of course, and in the meantime you can check out the full patch notes for the PC and Xbox update here.
