DC Comics has revealed the name, and origin, of the real Joker terrorizing the DC Universe. That’s right, there has been two separate Jokers spreading mayhem and destruction, but one of them is not the real Joker. Unfortunately, the one we all know and love in Gotham is actually the imposter. Instead, the real Clown Prince of Crime has been busy turning Los Angeles into their own personal funhouse. This reveal comes from Matthew Rosenberg’s The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing #11.
A Tale Of Two Jokers
Throughout Rosenberg’s The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing, fans have been following the story of two Jokers. One is having a rough go of things. First, they were captured as they wreaked havoc on Gotham. This led them to being shot, but somehow surviving. Meanwhile, the other one opted for warmer climates in Los Angeles. While both provided tales of debauchery as they terrorized their cities, only one was the real Joker. Now, fans may be shocked to discover that the Joker from Gotham is actually the fake one.
The Real Joker
The 11th issue of Rosenberg’s comic unraveled a story about a henchmen named John Keyser. Keyser looked enough like the Clown Prince that he decided to make him over to look and act identical to him. The two terrorized Gotham until the Joker got bored. So, he decided to shoot Keyser and leave him for dead. However, the big reveal is that the one left in Gotham, the one fans view as the real Joker, is the fake Keyser.
Keyser’s seeming immortality explains how Gotham’s Clown Prince of Crime is able to survive whatever Batman throws at him. Things like surgeries, gunshots, and explosions would kill any normal human. Now, the real Joker is looking for Keyser, as is a few vigilantes. However, what will he do when he catches…himself? Keyser cannot die and having an immortal look-a-like has its perks. However, can Joker’s ego allow for two Jokers to exist? Only time will tell.
