Just as we got off the high of the teaser trailer, the international trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse gave us some more fuel for the fire. If you’re a fan of the animated series like me, you know this movie has been a long time coming, and it shows. Some big names seem to be dropping for the movie’s release: previous actors that have taken the Spider-Man mantle. Tobey Maguire, Tom Holland, and Andrew Garfield, just to name a few.
Right out of the gate during the international trailer, we hear those voices once again claiming their role in the Spider-Man universe. After that, we see the Spider-Man for this movie, making himself known while also dropping the hint that he’ll be involved with those names very soon. If you’d like to experience the trailer for yourself before we get into the finer details, you can watch it below:
What Does The New Trailer Do Differently?
Now that you’re up to speed let’s get to it. The Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse international trailer is full of attention to detail. Much like what we expect from the movie, it takes light to other Spider-Man media. The trailer starts with a voice-over, going from the earliest to the latest in the series. Throughout each quote, snippets of the movie appear, along with text that emphasizes the current Miles’ journey. Finally, the text summarizes with, “You know the sacrifices. You know the triumphs. But on June 2, one Spider-Man will change his destiny.”
As you probably already know, the three live-action Spider-Men stars made an appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. This helped the movie immensely, garnering a reception and resulting in an incredible turnout for the movie’s success. Rumor has it that Sony tried to get them for the first movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, but was unsuccessful. However, water under the bridge like that is irrelevant, thanks to the first movie’s success. Now the second movie can stand on its own, even without the cameos. Although, the cameos do make things a little smoother, not to mention cooler.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse comes out in theaters on June 2.
