Dandy’s World in Roblox is one of the newest games on the platform. It’s a survival horror game where you’re a helpless Toon under the mercy of monsters known as Twisteds. Thankfully, you can get help from other players since it’s mostly a multiplayer game (unless you’re really brave). Also, our beginner’s guide is here to provide some much-needed direction for Dandy’s World Roblox.
Keep in mind that the game is still in its Alpha state so there might be some changes or additions in the near future without prior notice.
How to Play Dandy’s World Roblox
If you’re on a PC or a laptop, you might want to turn on the Camera(Toggle) option to make gameplay easier to survive. This way, you don’t have to keep pressing the mouse to look behind you.
In any case, the goal in Dandy’s World Roblox is to survive and explore while collecting as much Ichor as you can.
To start, follow these instructions:
- Walk to the elevators at the end of the hallway. Get in.
- Wait for the player queue to fill up or the timer to expire.
- You can also leave the queue if no one is joining unless you want a solo experience.
- After that, you’re left to your own devices.
The Goal in Dandy’s World
Once the elevator timer is done, the game will introduce you to a dimly lit floor crawling with monsters called Twisteds. The objective is thus simple:
- Avoid the Twisteds (get hit by three attacks and it’s game over)
- Extract the Ichor from all the Extraction Machines on the current floor. These have red buttons on them (green once extracted).
- Move on to the next floor, do the same
- (Optional) Look for items on the floor that you can pick up (they can help)
To extract Ichor, you must press a button at the right time. This is called a Skill Check, and if you fail this, you will alarm the nearby Twisteds and must run. Sometimes, while you’re using the machine, a Twisted might also spot you randomly, and if that happens, you must cease extracting and outrun the chasing Twisted(s).
It certainly helps if you have other players watching your back or managing other Extraction Machines. Once you’ve extracted Ichor from all the Extraction Machines on the current floor, you can move on to the next floor by returning to the exit elevator.
All floors are procedurally generated and randomized, meaning you shouldn’t memorize the locations of the machines and the items. Higher-level floors also ramp up in difficulty and some floors have a chance to blackout all the lightning, rendering you unable to see the roaming Twisteds.
The Right Toon for The Right Job
The game presents you with longer-term goals than just running from monsters on every floor. As part of our beginner’s guide for Dandy’s World Roblox, collecting Toons or in-game characters is recommended. It’s an integral part of gameplay.
Initially, you start with just one Toon named Boxter. Later on, you can acquire other Toons by purchasing them from the in-game shop using Ichor. You can also purchase them using Robux. Sometimes, your success depends on the stats of your Toon. Some are better suited for stealth while others are for escaping.
Unlocking a new Toon requires hundreds or thousands of Ichor, however, and that requires a lot of Ichor and repeated playthroughs. Each toon has different stats, abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. Some can even restore the Stamina of nearby fellow toons.
Consider the following Toons to unlock first if you’re a beginner:
- Poppy (great for escaping)
- Razzle & Dazzle (fast movement speed & extraction speed)
- Pebble (for collecting Items)
- Vee (for locating Twisteds and Machines)
- Astro (for running)
- Scraps (great for movement but only in multiplayer)
- Goob (similar to Scraps, good for saving other players)
Use Items & Trinkets to Survive Longer
Your Toons’ abilities and stats aren’t your only tools for survival. You can also utilize Trinkets and Items to help you.
Trinkets are permanent equipable stat boosts or perks for your Toons that you can choose before the elevator doors open on each floor. Don’t ignore or forget about them before each game starts, as you can equip up to two. You can acquire Trinkets via Dandy’s Store in the lobby or through Twisted’s Research.
Items, on the other hand, are temporary consumables that you can acquire on each floor, and you can carry up to three. Look out for ones like Chocolates (which can increase Stamina) or the Bandage (healing). Additionally, you can purchase Items from Dandy’s Shop in the lobby before joining a floor.
Some Items like the Smoke Bomb can be a godsend for escaping Twisteds in a bind. Dandy’s Shop can also appear in the Intermission Elevator after each successful floor, provided you have enough Tapes to purchase Items.
Communication is Your Best Survival Tool in Multiplayer
With all that’s been said and done, it sometimes doesn’t matter if you have the best Items, Trinkets, or Toons as long as you have solid communication or coordination with other players in multiplayer.
It’s better if you can talk to them via a mic, but even without that, you can try to help each other by acting as bait or using your Toons’ abilities. This becomes even more crucial on the higher floors, and, of course, don’t forget the advice in our Dandy’s World Roblox beginner guide.
