Investing time into a gacha is something no one should take lightly. Since everything works around RNG, you can get fantastic characters or some less-than-ideal ones. Fortunately or unfortunately, that’s how Zenless Zone Zero works as well, so we wouldn’t blame anyone who wants to re-roll. Since you only get one shot per account at all the free rewards and discounted pulls, it is better to aim for the best Agents, even if that means creating dozens of accounts and spending a few hours restarting this game over and over.
Re-Rolling in Zenless Zone Zero, Explained
Before we delve into the “how to,” you must keep something in mind if you want to re-roll in Zenless Zone Zero. First and foremost, think about the character you want to get. ZZZ‘s first version only features the standard banner and one premium banner. This means that we have a limited roster of S-Rank Agents to obtain. With that information, you should already know which one you are pulling for. If you’re unsure, here’s a tier list to help you decide. Secondly, you need to learn how many free pulls you can get by playing the game for a few hours. We also have a guide on how to get 100 free pulls in Version 1.0. So, with all that out of the way, let’s begin.
How To Re-Roll
All you need to re-roll in Zenless Zone Zero is a bunch of email accounts, patience, and a few hours to keep restarting the game’s story. If this is your first time re-rolling, we recommend you create all emails before you begin and link them to a new HoYoverse account. Once you have all of that, you can officially begin. Also, keep in mind that re-rolling can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour, depending on what your goals are.
How Long Does It Take to Re-Roll?
As mentioned earlier, if you want to re-roll in Zenless Zone Zero, the time will vary depending on your goals. Let’s say you want to get Grace Howard as your guaranteed S-Rank Agent. Unlocking the gacha system and getting the 50 pulls required for the Agent takes 20 minutes, assuming you skip the story cutscenes. If you also want to get the character in the premium banner, you’ll need to spend at least a couple of days until you get the 100 pulls unless you get lucky and get your S-Rank Agent before hitting 80 pity. Here are some of the scenarios and timeframes you’ll be looking at.
- Getting your desired S-Rank Agent after 50 pulls (20 minutes)
- The fastest re-roll method is for those who want to get an S-Rank Agent at the discounted banner with 50 pulls. Also, the first 50 pulls are discounted, so you’ll only need 40 Master Tapes. You can get that currency by opening your mail, grabbing the 20 Master Tapes, and then finishing the story’s prologue for the remaining Tapes.
- Getting your desired S-Rank Agent after 50 pulls and the limited-time S-Rank Agent (At least a day)
- Assuming you get your desired S-Rank Agent from the standard banner, you can continue pulling for the limited-time character. Since pity hits at 80 pulls, you’ll need the 100 free ones to ensure an S-Rank Agent. The best scenario is pulling for a character before hitting 80 pity, but not everyone’s that lucky.
Our personal recommendation is to try and go for the second scenario. First, go for your desired S-Rank Agent at 50 pulls. If you don’t get it, re-rolling takes 20 minutes. Once you have them, use all the currency to buy Encrypted Master Tapes. With enough of them, start pulling until you get the character. However, remember this scenario will take several hours. Also, don’t worry about skipping the story. ZZZ allows you to replay all cutscenes, so you can watch them all once you have your dream team.
