The Umbrella Academy is an adaptation of a series of graphic novels written by My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way. It follows a family of dysfunctional superheroes who are all born on the same day to women showing no signs of pregnancy. After the death of their adoptive father, the team comes back together only to realize it’s up to them to save the world.
The Umbrella Academy adaptation released to wild praise and a dedicated fanbase. According to Netflix, over 45 million households streamed the series, so it was immediately renewed for a second season. However, until the release date announcement, they have been tight-lipped about the second season and what it will entail. Either way, fans are eager to see how the story continues.
The second season of The Umbrella Academy will release globally on Netflix on July 31st, 2020. The first season is available, in full, on Netflix right now, and you can catch our review of it here.
