Everybody loves Bravo’s new reality show The Valley, including Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift. In a September 2024 interview with Vanity Fair, Selena revealed the behind-the-scenes details of her years-long friendship with her bestie, Taylor. Aside from chatting about normal things, like relationships and work, the Disney star said they also “compare notes” about reality television. “I’m on The Valley now,” Selena said. “I’ve watched every episode of Vanderpump Rules, so I don’t care if it’s bad!”
After hearing the news that the world’s biggest stars spend their free time binging their show, The Valley stars had to share their reactions. So, what did they have to say?
Brittany Cartwright, Jax Taylor, and Others Have Strong Feelings About Taylor and Selena Watching the Valley
In an interview with Us Weekly, Brittany Cartwright couldn’t believe the news that Taylor and Selena keep up with The Valley. “I mean, that’s kind of crazy. I fully love that, actually,” she said. “Selena Gomez came to TomTom a couple times, so I knew she liked the show, but hearing that they talk about it, they text about it, they call about it. Like, that’s amazing.”
When Jax Taylor was asked about the news, he shared a similar reaction, saying the team “worked really hard” to create their show. “I mean, it’s an amazing thing,” he said. “You know, I had this idea a couple of years ago and brought it to our guy Alex [Baskin] and, and here we are, two [or] three years later.”
Another Valley cast member, Jason Caperna, commented on Taylor and Selena’s behavior, calling it “really weird.”
“… like, Taylor Swift is sitting on a private jet on her way to Tokyo or something and knows who we are. It is really strange,” he said.
What Will Season 2 of the Valley Have in Store?
Elsewhere, during the cast’s chat with Us, Jax hinted that the upcoming season would be a challenge for him. “This season is gonna be tough,” he said. “I don’t know how much hate I’m gonna get from it.”
News broke that Jax and Brittany were officially divorcing in August 2024. In the court documents, Brit cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split. Shortly after, she slammed the reality star for being a “terrible husband.”
Today, all she wants to do is make sure her son, Cruz, is well taken care of.
“I’m trying to just like, you know, focus on my son, and he is, like, the light of my life,” she said. “We’re having so much fun together. And it’s a lot, but I’m just smiling my way through it all.”
In addition to watching the pair separate, viewers will also see Jax undergo a stint in an inpatient center. It’s unclear what led to his stay. However, he once stated on his podcast, When Reality Hits, that he believed there was something “wrong with my brain.”
There’s been no official announcement about Season 2 just yet, but with the behind-the-scenes drama, when it does make its return, you can bet Taylor and Selena won’t be the only ones watching.
