We’re almost there, folks. After months of waiting, fans of The Walking Dead are now three weeks shy of learning who was on the receiving end of Negan’s barb-wired bat, Lucille, in the season six finale. If you’re thinking three weeks is not enough time to binge watch all six seasons on Netflix before the season seven premiere, don’t worry. AMC has announced they are taking us down memory lane and will air a two-hour retrospective special entitled, “The Walking Dead: Journey So Far”.
‘Journey So Far’ will recap the entire series- everything from season one with Rick waking up in the hospital, all the way to the brutal cliffhanger at the end of the season six finale, ‘Last Day on Earth’. The special will also include interviews with the cast and series’ producers. Here is the official press release, courtesy of AMC:
Season by season, from the moment Rick wakes up in the hospital (as told by Andrew Lincoln), all the way to the excruciating first swing of Negan’s bat (told by Jeffery Dean Morgan and others in the lineup), the story of “The Walking Dead” will be told by those who have lived it. “The Walking Dead: Journey So Far” gives viewers who have never seen an episode of “The Walking Dead” a chance to get all caught up on the plot, characters, locations, and unique terminology of the series as well as providing fans who‘ve never missed a moment with fresh interviews with the series’ producers and their favorite actors as part of an exciting refresher course that will further whet their appetite for the new season.
AMC will air the ‘Journey So Far’ on Sunday, October 13 at 9pm EST. Season 7 of The Walking Dead will premiere the following week on October 23 along with a ninety-minute special of ‘Talking Dead’, with twelve cast members and director, Greg Nicotero.
