Amazon Prime Video canceled The Wilds after two seasons, Deadline has reported. The doors closed on the YA survival series three months after its second season finale, which was released on May 6th. The cast and crew were just told about the decision.

Long before getting canceled, The Wilds was a part of an initiative to get more teen content on the platform. Successful runs have been made with The Summer I Turned Pretty. The survival series was developed by the late Jamie Tarses (Happy Endings), who executive produced the series with Sarah Streicher, Amy Harris, Dylan Clark, Daniel Paige, John Polson, Melissa Blake, Franklin Hardy, Shalisha Francis, David Blocker, and Susanna Fogel.

Streicher also wrote and created the series on top of executive producing. She is best known for writing Turning Red and the third season of Daredevil before it went dormant until recently as Marvel brought the character back for Spider-Man: No Way Home and a slew of upcoming projects. Harris (Sex and the City) acted as showrunner. The canceled series, The Wilds, jumps through time as a group of teen girls tells investigators about a plane crash that stranded them on an island. The mysterious circumstances became more complicated in the second season when a group of teenage boys were introduced who were in the same situation.

The series starred Rachel Griffiths (Six Feet Under), David Sullivan (Sharp Objects), Troy Winbush (The Goldbergs), Sophia Ali (Uncharted), Sarah Pidgeon, Jenna Clause, Erana James (Golden Boy), Mia Healey, Helena Howard (Don’t Look Deeper), Reign Edwards (MacGyver), and Shannon Berry (Offspring). Season 2 introduced Zack Calderon, Aidan Laprete, Nicholas Coombe (Dora and the Lost City of Gold), Charles Alexander, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Reed Shannon (Arcane), Tanner Ray Rook, and Alex Fitzalan (50 States of Fright).

Although The Wilds was canceled, it can still be checked out on Prime Video.
