How many times have we heard of modders saving games that launch in a broken state? Cyberpunk 2077 has a committed modding community that worked a lot to fix many of the issues in the game. While CD Projekt Red brought many updates to improve the title, modders were the ones that did the heavy lifting for a while. Now, the story repeats with yet another title from these developers. There is a The Witcher 3 mod that fixes raytracing on PC. This has been one of the features that has hindered performance on many high-end PCs, and this mod aims to fix that part.
The Witcher 3 Raytracing Mod improves performance on PC by 40%
A 40% bump in performance is something more than commendable. It is great to see that this dedicated modder that goes by the name of ‘alikoko’ has fixed this problem, or at least improved it marginally. Now, we could only hope that the developers would focus on this as well but they might be fixing a lot more things. While the console version of the games didn’t turn out that bad, it is sad to see that the PC launch wasn’t so smooth. It was full of glitches, a few bugs, and performance problems.

For those who decide to download the mod, you will see a huge improvement when it comes to framerate. The modder tested this on an RTX 2060 Super. Results may vary depending on your GPU, but so far, this raytracing mod for The Witcher 3 on PC seems to be doing wonders. The issues came as part of the next-gen update that launched not long ago. While it brought some great things like new armor, new quests, and even some UI improvements, some other things were neglected. We hope that these problems get a fix real soon, but in the meantime, we are thankful to the modding community for improving the games they love so much.
