As we know, America has not always been fair to women. Women fought for years to obtain as little as just the right to vote, and it was not easy. As always, every election, we have to hear from angry conservatives about the fact that women ruin everything for them. As one New York man says, MAGA had quite the response after recent local elections. This is especially true of those taking place in New York. Apparently, their go-to is to blame democratic wins on women.
According to Nathan (@nathancjun on TikTok), “MAGA response” to the recent elections is disturbing toward women, to say the least. According to one recent poster on Twitter, “Repealing the 19th is the moderate position at this point.” This was in response to a poll showing that 81% of young women voted for Zohran Mamdani for mayor in New York City. What this means is that conservatives believe the 19th Amendment should be overturned. Then, that the right to vote would be taken from people based on sex.
Nathan shows another example of somebody sharing this same sentiment, but this time it’s from a woman herself. The woman states, “Literally PLEASE take our right to vote away. My vote will go with my husband! Can we just go back to homemaking and raising our own children??” Maybe homemaking is totally fine for some women and relationships based on what you want out of your own personal parenting experience. But we should NEVER be pushing the dynamic of women having their rights taken away. Once the right to vote goes away, everything else can be taken from there – and will if MAGA has its way.
Nathan says that women feeling this way “shows the complete Stockholm syndrome of how MAGA lives in their state of mind.” He states that it’s possible women and other individuals are “waking up” and seeing how “god-awful” the Trump administration truly is. Most of these policies are just out here to hurt people, women included. There are leaders who were elected into place who don’t even want the bare minimum for women. They don’t want them having control over their bodies. It’s literally disturbing.
One commenter chimed in on Nathan’s video, “The loss of women’s rights is absolute insanity.” Another pointed out, “Women fought hard for the right to vote, the right to own property, the right to handle their own business and many of the rights they gained over the last century.” And, honestly, none of us are about to stop that fight… No matter how much MAGA wants to take it all away.
