Total War Thrones of Britannia was set to be released on the 19 April 2018, however, it has been pushed back two weeks. The game will now be released on 3 May 2018.
Michael Whelan, Author at Total War, gave an insight into the delay:
“Alongside our usual prelaunch procedures, we’re adding and tweaking a few features we wouldn’t otherwise have time for.”
The main change they are going to make in those two weeks are with the battle fights. The team plan on making the AI smarter in how they fight the player while changing the flanking behaviour and blocking charge pathways. Along with this change, the team are also looking at the quality-of-life UI improvements which will include upkeep and supplies when it comes to different levels of food and how much they effect the player. The last thing they will be working on during the two weeks is the campaign AI, as they want to do more balancing work for it.
The team has also released some information on the Vikings that will be in the game. In Total War Thrones of Britannia Viking Sea Kings rule the coasts of the map with two factions. One is set on the east and the other on the south. The east coast faction is called Dyflin which is the largest slave trading port in the game with Bardr the leader ruling over them. All construction costs are lowered due to the nature of these vikings and they have a good variety of units as well.
In the south coast is the faction Sudreyar which is materially poor and ruled by Eirik. Though, their armies feature very strong axe and sword infantry and get bonus supplies when in enemy territory.
