Fans continue to think Timothee Chalamet‘s budding romance with Kylie Jenner isn’t good for him. The actor made a rare appearance at the 34th Gotham Awards on Monday night, where he received the prestigious Gotham Film & Media Institute’s Visionary Tribute honor for his work in the Bob Dylan biopic. Unfortunately, the great achievement wasn’t the highlight of the big night.
The American-French star showed up at the awards show, channeling a nostalgic look reminiscent of the midcentury fashion era. He was decked in a striped charcoal wool Celine suit. The double-breasted suit was a bit baggy with a 4×8 button arrangement, and underneath, Chalamet wore a striped shirt. He completed the look with a sharp black dress shoe while rocking a thin striped mustache. The Dune actor, who has been filming two projects — A Complete Unknown and Marty Supreme — for months, looked quite gaunt.
His face was noticeably slimmer, with his cheekbones popping out. Although it seems the shocking transformation was for the movie roles, fans couldn’t get behind it and pointed accusing fingers at none other than Jenner. Many hinted that the reality star pressured her boyfriend of more than one year to change his looks, which is the usual practice with her family.

A forum was set up on Reddit to discuss Chalamet’s unrecognizable look. “It’s the Kurse. Everyone can see that his face changed in a year. Thanks, Kylie Jenner, you ruined him,” the title of the discussion read. Several fans agreed with the conspiracy theory, sharing their thoughts.
“The KarJenner curse is real. Every man that’s been in a relationship with them has fallen hard and we are witnessing this with Timothee. He no longer looks healthy, he looks sick, looks like he’s on drugs.”
Another fan wrote, “He is fully aware that his support has gone down since dating Kylie. You can see the stress on his face, he aged about 20 years. Sad what he has come to.”
A third comment read, “Meanwhile, Kylie is glowing and looks the happiest she has ever been. She is sucking the life force out of him.”
One fan expressed concern not only about Timothee Chalamet’s looks but his attitude at the Gotham awards.
“His speech years ago, he had the audience laughing, and his speech was long and witty,” the user observed. “But yesterday’s speech, he made it very short. He wasn’t speaking loudly and clearly and was all over the place. It’s unfortunate to see that his confidence is also gone.”
